I give the credit for LSU's wins to the players, the assistants, the money the athletic program allows to be paid towards our assistants, the fan base and Les Miles. Stop acting like Les miles is solely responsible for every win LSU has ever had during his time at LSU.

.........as long as you do the same when you compare Miles to Saban.

Bama had 50 wins starting this season since 07. How did you come up with 61?

Thanks for the research. Still waiting for his response to them.
Funny how facts can ruin a good rant isn't it?

If Les Miles by himself makes 4.15 million how can the entire LSU coaching staff make only 3.85 million collectively?

Oh and there happens to be a pdf of his contract in conjunction with the link.

Some others on the staff...

BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) — The LSU Board of Supervisors has approved a $1.1 million annual pay package for new basketball coach Johnny Jones and a raise for football defensive coordinator John Chavis that will take his average annual pay to $1.1 million over the next three seasons.
The board, which met Friday, also has approved pay changes for several other football assistants, including raises for running backs coach Frank Wilson and offensive coordinator Greg Studrawa, as well as a pay cut for quarterbacks coach Steve Kragthorpe.
Wilson, also the recruiting coordinator, will earn $600,000 a year, while Studrawa will earn $500,000. Studrawa was promoted last season when Kragthorpe, who was initially hired as offensive coordinator, sought a diminished role after being diagnosed with Parkinson's disease.
Kragthorpe's pay will drop from $700,000 to $425,000.

I believe that puts LSU at almost $6 million not including other assistants and trainers....what is your source? Can it do simple math?

Besides my point is because he and the rest of the staff make so much money, and seemingly get greatly talented players they SHOULD be up at the top of CFB. If they weren't then it would be a vast waste of resources, talent, money and support.

He's number 1 in my book since he's ours and loves being here...has no "want" to be elsewhere. And, statistically, he's in the top 5 of anybody with a brain.

that was head coach last year according to this link, I edited original post...

LINK

total for staffs were...

Texas 8.8M
Alabama 8.5M
Auburn 7.7M
LSU 7.6M
Okla 6.7M

again, that was 2011, Auburn was inflated due to Malzahn. Same basic story though...

My assumption is those are the salaries for the staff. Based on your link, since Mack Brown makes 5.25 million and UT pays 5.2 million everyone else would be working for free.

I get your point now. Doing a good job shouldn't be rewarded with salary increases. Right?

No...my link gives Head Coaching Salaries, not staff salaries. I provided that link to show that Les Miles makes 4.15 million instead of 3.85, making those initial numbers inaccurate.

Depends on what you define as good job. Les Miles has been apart of LSU sustaining what Nick Saban and his staffs worked hard to build up. The money, the facilities, the reputation was all built before Miles. Believe it or not, players look at facilities, players care about guys like Tommy Moffitt who has a great reputation at improving players' strength and conditioning to get them to the next level, they care about assistant coaches (Frank WIlson-Anthony "Freak" Johnson relationship). I think Les Miles has relied heavily on others to sustain the program , and we have been able to get others to help through the large amount of $$$$ LSU can provide. If LSU had only half a million to acquire a coaching staff after Les Miles' salary then LSU would be royally screwed.

I wondered when you would get to the it's "All due to Saban" part.
Not creative; not original; terribly dated and stale; but if that's all you have to hang your position on, by all means use it.

as much as I have been critical of Leslie, I honestly would only take 1 coach over him on this list and Spurrier back during his Florida days. Thats only 2 coaches: Saban and Spurrier.

fify

it's pretty clear that there is a direct correlation between money spent and success in college football...that's why good coaches want to go to schools that can throw around serious cash. LSU/Miles being 2nd on the OP's list, given how much more Bama, Texas, Okla, etc. spend in total, is all the more impressive.

Just checked again.

Sorry - where did you learn 2nd grade arithmetic?

2007-2011, Bama had 55 wins.

Add 6 more this year, for 61 total.

The Bama record for 2007 was 2-6 as Bama vacated 5 games.

Bama was 50-12 coming into this season.
