In my mind, NC's, Heisman's, or superb career (Gunther) should get someone a statue

For some reason I can’t explain, it bothers me that he usually wears a watch with a leather strap out there sweating his arse off.

LSU let him retire and didn’t fire him, that should be honor enough

I think retiring his number would be appropriate. I do not think that he merits a statue. A plaque on the stadium wall also makes sense. I do know that his failure to actively recruit cost him his job, but he did win a national championship, many SEC tournament championships, and took LSU to the CWS on multiple occasions.

Hold a press conference highlighting all his failures over the years. It’s how he treated players. Why can’t he get the bus roll treatment?

Like it or hate it, he won a NC, he should be honored in some fashion, but no statue for damn sure.

Considering what happens to statues in this state, I wouldn’t want one if I was Paul. I think a jersey retirement would be great. The list of LSU coaches with national championships is a short one.

A plaque somewhere in the ball park will suffice.
