Come tourny time we might see a less walk prone bullpen with umps that aren’t arse fricking us on a tight zone.

It happened in 23 and 24 bullpen was arse and then post season we get huge performances because the zone changed

We really only have a few more traditional 3 game series to get through.

A&M & Arkansas- status quo. Just as you said.. Anderson and Eyanson, and bring in ZC & Evans if needed to locked down games 1/2.

USCe- if we're at 18 wins coming into id start prepping for a likely regional rotation..keep Anderson and Eyanson on schedule by pushing back to games 2 (Friday) & 3 (Saturday). Lets try to find our regional game 1 starter here in the form of Schmidt, Ware, Noot... hope someone steps up and takes it in our last 2 midweeks.

SECT- we are likely to get the double bye and only play Friday/Saturday/Sunday (if we keep winning). Friday will be our regional game 1 starter and honestly wouldn't mind a 1 and Q in Hoover to let our big arms rest.

Regional- We can start having this arguement now or wait but you don't waste an ace vs. McNeese or SLU. Gotta save Anderson and Eyanson for the marbles and Sunday games, respectively.

Super- we are back to a trad 3 game series, hopefully a Saturday/Sunday/Monday variety to keep our guys on 7 days rest.

Omaha- you obviously roll your best guys out in order. If we keep winning it's smooth sailing but as 2023 proved, quality depth could be important to climb of out losers bracket.

Good stuff. I agree with the end of season pitching layout. Just gotta hope someone takes that 3rd starter role, or we don’t have to use Casan or ZC in the first games and can use them as he did this weekend!

The goal should be get 2 every weekend and we have 2 stud starters and 2 studs we can close or use for game 3 if needed.

This is what most fans refused to accept. You are playing very good SEC teams. The stars may align a you get a sweep. Sweeps may happen, but the goal should be 2 of 3. We were extremely close to going 1 of 3 this weekend.

Skenes started regional game 1 vs Tulane.

Jay has shown he will not pitch off in the true postseason.

and you could get more out of Ware, Schmidt, and Williams, you could use Evans or Cowan as a starter every weekend.

But none of those 3 have stepped up. Schmidt needs to step up i think he's a guy who could give you 3-4 innings and save Evans or Cowan.
____

This. We need Schmidt to step up. I like having Evans and Cowen as relievers, but only if our Sunday started is reasonably effective. We need to play to win the remaining series. Sweeps are nice, but winning remaining series gets us a top-8 national seed.

At this point in the season you leave Sunday open. The goal is to win as many games as possible. If you can keep Evans on the shelf until Sunday great, means you most likely already won the series.

There's no point in trying to establish a "Sunday" guy this late in the year. Go win ball games.

But, I will say Evans going 6 full innings in such comfortable fashion makes you feel better about a possible post season stretch where we need 4-5 strong starters.

Good break down I agree

However I think JJ is a throw your ace guy in a regional game 1. He threw skenes vs a pitiful Tulane team

I think it will depend on the score. Is it close (for or against), is it 6+ (one way or the other)? It is all about winning 2/3. Sweeps are nice, but the number is 2. Just like this series. Regardless, there will be a multiple arms game because these other guys have to get it right.

I am happy with the way things turned out this weekend, obviously!

However, I still think Evans should have came in Saturday when we had the momentum. As soon as we got to the reliever, and came within 1 run, you have to have confidence in this lineup to do damage on any team's bullpen.

Had Evans came in we probably don't give up a 6-run inning, and JJ doesn't start pinch hitting the lineup.

Hindsight being 20/20, JJ probably already made the decision to start Evans, which I wasn't expecting. But, who knows!

The problem was for the last month this line up has been in a major slump. You don’t go to our closet down 1 when he can start and win you Sunday

What happens if LSU doesn't score again and you burn him? You lose the series.

I think Cowan and Evans along with Anderson and Eyanson as our starters will be very hard to beat come regional play.

For a Regional you need to win 3 games. So you would need to have Evans or Cowan available for game 3. If all 4 of them are burned games 1 and 2 then you're at a disadvantage come the third and/or 4th game.

For a Super Regional and the CWS Final I agree with you, but for the Regional and CWS additional arms are going to be needed in order to win and advance.

True while I still disagree with that decision I can admit it worked out. Process over results.

I think a lot depends on who that 4 seed is. A salty in-state or team fr the south that's playing hot or has an ace, sure throw Kade. If we get some random Quinnipeac team tho let's see if Noot and our b team can get us home tho.
