Sure about that? Average NFL career is 3.3 years.

Well I don’t think that, it’s a fact.
It’s a fact that the team that has 3 championships in the last 22 yrs and the last being 5 years ago is not a top ten program? Are you a crackhead?

You have yet to prove anything. Zero

He’s one of those rare ones that checks every box except college coaching experience.
I’m gonna trust the fact he checks every other box.

Otis Washington St Aug Head Coach to LSU 1976. He was coaching a high school that could win the Big 12. St Aug were big and won multiple state championships. Then was hired at Souhern as Head Coach from LSU .One of their all time best coaches.

While I understand what you’re saying
That isn’t really true to the extent you are making it seem.
See Dave Aranda.
That dude never played ball at a high level at all and was the highest paid DC in football before he took the HC job at baylor.

We haven’t been a top 10 team for 6 years. 6 years is over half a decade and your deflection doesn’t change that because it’s a fact. Yes I’ve answered your question accurately. It isn’t on me to predict what you’ll change the question to every time you don’t like the answer. Not my fault you can’t handle facts.

Aranda played football in HS and had career ending back injuries.

You just never know. The next great college head football coach, could be on a shrimp boat right now in lower Lafourche parish. You just never know till you try.

No one knows for sure. But he’s a guy who has performed at the highest level and has a passion for the school he’s coaching vs a coach from somewhere else where this would essentially be just another job. Plus, LSU wasn’t in an optimal spot to make a hire given the timing.

I know an NFL WR coach who hadn’t played since high school.

Kyle will give LSU stability at DT coaching. 8 coaches in 6 years. Doesn't matter how good they are if they leave. He'll also be able to get assistance from Peoples who has coached DTs and DEs.
He's been coached by Jenkins and Bo who are considered 2 of the best. 13 years in the NFL and 6 pro-bowls based on technique over talent.
The moment was too big for Steeples, but Williams played here and succeeded at the highest level. I doubt he's going to get overwhelmed.
It's definitely a risk, but a calculated risk.

All I know is over the last 6years or so there has been a lot of poor hires, especially on D. That might have been the hires were crap or perhaps they just couldn't convey what they wanted players to do in any given situation on the field. It's pretty obvious Kyle can communicate very well, that's over half the challenge in forming a formidable D. I like the hire, plus he is still relatively young and has been coaching young guys up. He sure isn't going to do a Petrino like O's dumb arse hired.

General Wade never played!

I have no ideal how good of a coach he will be.
What doesn’t take to be a “good coach”? That’s what I’m trying to figure out. Why is this hire ANY risk to LSU? People could say it is about recruiting. That is a different aspect of the job. That isn’t coaching.

A good college coach? They have to be able to recruit and develop players. Neither of which he has done at the college level.

You really don’t understand how a coach with zero college coaching experience could be a risk? Really?

Did you purposely leave off a 13 year NFL playing career where he was a 6 time pro-bowler? Those count for something. It’s definitely not nothing.
They can't stand it.
