My feeling is that I hope the threat of our WRs is enough to open up some holes for ground game. I think we’ve got a stable of serviceable backs.

I really think AG breaks out this season and becomes RB1.

Like a lot of areas it’s a question mark. Nobody on the roster has proven anything other than a blip or two. We have guys with some tools but it takes a lot more than a 40 time to get it done for 13 weeks especially during the 8 week SEC schedule.

What? Right now, we don't have any NFL-ready RBs. They have potential with Emery leading the way, but Emery and Cain have been inconsistent and Goodwin only got a few touches last year. Emery needs to step it up big-time. He is the veteran.

Bro I could see it. He isnt big but has that low center of gravity, is shifty, and fast. If nothing else he reminds me of like a Michael Ford.

Yea, that’s why I caution against people saying we have so much talent and 10-2 is the floor. We have a ton of question marks, and most likely some will be answered in pleasant ways, and some not so pleasant. I personally do think the defense is solid though, they won’t be Georgia last year, but will get stops. It’s on offense where we have to answer those questions positively.

Gonna have to get an rb or two in the portal after this season, Cain and emery likely gone, then just Godwin and a couple freshmen.

People saying that aren’t making objective predictions, they’re hoping and wishing. I don’t predict records because all I want is for us to get the most out of what we have. What we have this year is 50 new guys in a new system with the only familiarity being on the Dline. Our first 5 games gives us a chance to gel and find an identity, the second 5 is a gauntlet. Right now there’s no way to predict if we matchup with the contenders in the league. People can say “muh talent” til they’re blue in the face but good football is a lot more than how fast a guy runs or the Rant drooling over what players look like with their shirts off.

If Cain is back to being 100%, he’ll be a hell of an addition to the group. Emery needs to have a breakout year this year.

I feel like all of these guys are more than capable of starting for a D1 team. It all comes down to how well the o-line gels and can open holes for these guys. If they get past the d-lineman and have to movement to juke or power over the linebackers and give the offense 2nd and 5, or 3rd and 2 situations, it will be a good feeling.

Emery, Cain, Goodwin. What’s your assessment?

All depends on the Oline.

If the Oline shows up then I pretty heavily disagree with you. Emery is an All American type talent alone

Im my opinion this position is the biggest question mark/wild card on the team. The RB’s on this roster ran for a combined 172 yds last season. Run game needs to be respectable for the Tigers to have a passing game. Does it start with Oline…sure but these backs will need to make some plays on their own and besides glimpses from Emery, we have zero evidence that this group will be able to do that.

Noah Cain taking 1st round reps today FWIW. I think Emery and Cain is going to be a massive 1-2 punch this year. Emery has the speed, and agility, Cain has a little bit more physicality. I think Emery has a breakout year, and Cain bounces back from his injury.
