I was just curious, obviously I don’t know whose commmmg back for other teams and I doubt many of us do, just seems like with the number 1 portal, and a fairly high recruiting class top 3 should be a real expectation, if ya believe its been a talent issue the past few years. Again, I haven’t seen who’s returning who yet next year.

lol dude I wasn’t trying to be a dick and the last time I had checked we were leading in the portal rankings, maybe not now but I don’t check them daily. And I was not trying to argue with ya I just was curious about your opinion. I familiarize myself with basketball so for me, a portal ranking doesn’t mean much anyway, but I know to many on here it does.

Really hoping it works out for McMahon, but I’m not overly confident. This portal haul is looking promising though. I’m all in, but if the McMen will just admit that there are no more excuses from here on, and that this next season is kind of “it”, LSU will be better going forward

100 percent as of today this is the transfers we need to compete and miller and chest aren’t big losses.
November to December the Mcmen will crow as we beat up on the little sisters of the poor. Then January hits, we win a sec game and then we have a close loss and another and the wheels come flying off. Then it will be we have first year players, chest and miller quit on us, top nba pick was recovering from injury, someone quit in off season, we just need more money.

The difference is that he is shopping at Dilliards this year vs shopping at Marshals. I'm gonna wait and see if the extra NIL money does indeed get us there. This team this year was really just missing a PG (Sears didn't work out) and rim protector (he got hurt)....at least missing from the point of making the NCAA Trny. I'm actually excited about the transfers....to go with the players we have returning. SEC is now brutal (in most every sport) so I'd be good with a 9-9 sec record and likely 6 seed, for next season.

He's doing what Auburn does, and Bama does, and Florida does, and Tennessee...will he win like them? I don't know. But we'll know by the end of the year, and he's either in or out.

Which is why the NCAA Tournament had so few upset. The best mid-major players are getting scooped up by the power programs.

I, and I think most on here, on here am skeptical about MM’s chances of turning this around. Mostly because there are no benchmarks anyone can point to as acceptable.
Some say “make the tournament.” Others say “win a game in the tournament.” And on and on it goes. I’ve seen, and I’m afraid I will see again, that some (Woodward in particular) will “move the goalposts,” as to what is acceptable progress.
Is it a better overall record? SEC record? Make the tournament? What? We are all agreed that the current state of the basketball program is not acceptable, but what constitutes acceptable? That needs to be made clear.
If the last few years aren’t enough, then what is?
