He looked very white. Which is good enough for me and most of the rant

that's about as racist of a comment as I've heard in a long time. i'm not a political correct person either.

so you think, and you speak for most of the rant, that white qb's aren't any good? discounting a person's abilities because of race only is ignorant. and, in this case, ignores some of the greatest qb's in the history of football.

Frankly I'd like to know how Etling looked as well. If Harris goes down with an injury we might need Etling to win a game or two (maybe more).

The OP didn't make any suggestion about Etling starting, and yet this whole thread has been derailed by people arguing over this. Just stop.

While we're at it, how's McMillan looking? I'll be much happier when we reach the point where we have an experienced back-up ready to step in when our starter leaves. Not only do we need to keep the bodies coming in with new recruits (which seems like we're now doing), but we also need to get these guys some game time.

when you think about it we seem to have a qb get injured most years and need a back up for awhile. it's pretty normal in such a violent sport.

etling will be 22 years old in a month (according to the interwebs) so he has a LOT of practice reps and almost a season of starting experience and one year in the program at LSU. he will be a competent backup at worst if he's called to play.

from everything that has been reported, he knows the playback very well, so at least there's that. he has a decent arm and is somewhat mobile. hopefully if called upon, he'll be ready.

brandon harris is the starting QB unless injured or performs at an anthony jennings type level.

Why do white people hate white people so much? I thought Etling looked fine for a backup if Harris is injured. Not a starter over Harris, but there's always the possibility that we may need him to play, and play well.

Etling looked like a clone of Joe Montana. They looked so similar it was down right scary

I certainly hope you are right. We'll see this season as my bet is the situation you describe will present itself.

Tool? Miles recruit both of those quarterback and neither one is a div.1 quarterback, and continues with Harris because he doesn't have anything better. We'll see this year with Etling when Harris flops again. MiLes is the tool dog
