As far as getting a top 8 seed, how crucial is a win today with the USCe series next weekend?

If we lose today, chances are slim that we win the SEC, even if we do win 2/3 at South Carolina next weekend. I think with a series win next weekend and a decent showing in the SEC tourney we're in the top 8.

Why does everyone keep saying " getting an 8th" seed. Check the standings, LSU wins 2/3 this weekend and 2/3 next weekend we have the TWO seed locked up

It's pretty dang important. But we are still sitting in a great position. We control our own destiny, even with UK and SC winning, IMO.

We are in the hands of the Tigers.

Given we have Carolina on the road next weekend this game is crucial.

Losing a home series to a team with a 12-14 SEC record could seriously derail a top 8 seed since we have a tough series next weekend.

We need 2/3 this weekend because taking 2/3 vs USCe will be tough.

Losing to a middle of the pack SEC team this late in the year is not good!

The winning pitcher last night had won 7 decisions in a row vs. SEC competition. Vandy may have a losing record, but that speaks just as much to the strength of the conference as it does to our "shitty" performance.

that's cool and all, the winning pitcher my be a beast like you say, but LSU's players have got to step up this time of the season and produce no matter the problem. Performance is everything right now!

I'm just saying anybody expecting a sweep in any series (other than Bama) is being a complete homer. This is the SEC, not the Big XII.

The team is performing well. Vandy's SP last night was on. This is the SEC. I don't care what their record is, they have a bunch if talented guys on that team and they still have a handful of players on their team from the past two years in which they were great.

Like I've been saying, win today and all is well. We are still sitting pretty as of now.

No ones being a homer! Just as I said expecting them to play like it's May and not March!

We were 2 singles and 1 less stolen base by them away from winning. It's OK today will be better.

If LSU loses today, the Tigers won't make the post season at all. In fact, the baseball program will drop down to Division III just like UNO did.....
