It is believed that Woodward is on his way out. It is also believed that Woodward did not have a say in Kelly's firing. Or at least it wasn't his sole decision.
Stop making things up.
On the other hand, it's not just Ranters living in fantasy world. On his show last night, Josh Pate flat out said that Kelly was fired because he wanted to fire Sloan and Woodward didn't, when the actual truth (as reported by legitimate local professional journalist insiders) was the total opposite.
So, it's not just Ranters making things up.

I guess in many ways it is a craps shoot, but geezus. This guy was wrong in so many ways. LSU needs someone who is smart and can recruit to build a roster full of great players. Apart from Jayden Daniels, I struggle to think of a single game breaker he brought here. Keeping Nuss as the starter made no sense. The offensive line has been god awful. Just WTF has this guy been doing while collecting 10M/year.

Right...not like hes crushed it with other hires

It wasn’t disastrous when he hired him. He’s one of the most accomplished coaches. It just didn’t turn out the way he wanted. Out of all the coaches hired during that cycle, Kelly has performed the best. Riley and Napier has been disastrous. Woodward has hired great coaches. The contract is with the current market.

Not claiming to know anything, but it’s pretty obvious that Woodward as an AD is a fundraiser and lobbyist first and foremost. He has done what he’s been instructed to do by the people paying for it. You could argue that’s a symptom of a bigger problem, but it gets shite like BK being fired done, and it’s LA so it isn’t gonna change.

On Matt Moscona show last night he said Jeff Landry has his fingers all up in the mix. He said Landry has been looking at the clean house at LSU anyway to get his people in there. Now whether or not you believe that is up to you, but we should have an answer in the next few weeks I would imagine.
Didn’t he also say that there was no way Kelly was fired this season?

I do not feel secure in his choices. I do not think he can hire based on the last 2 decisions. Brian Day at Ohio State was not a past big time coach. Now at 46 he has proven to be a great hire. Yea yea he only has to play 2 regular season games a year. I get that.

How much rot is set in in the football program? It goes back at least to LM. They need to purge pretty much everyone and start afresh, which may mean that Scott needs to leave. Why give a 60-year-old a ten year guaranteed contract? Is that some sort of unspoken rule? Is the buyout actually less than the press is claiming? This team's roster is mostly junk. It will take several years for a very good coach to get things going.

Moscona is wrong about almost everything. He has a history of being consistently wrong. He's a blowhard without good sources.

Woodward wil be retained, which is fine. His other hires are his saving grace and he deserves credit for those.
He won’t hire the next HC, it’ll be outsourced to a consulting firm (which is becoming more and more trendy among major programs).

quote:well that isn’t working out for us very well. We weren’t pumping NIL money like others until this year. Scott thought somehow Angel Reese and Livy Dunn made us LSUNIL. Scott also tried to play by rules that no one else was playing by
The job of the AD is as much fundraising for NIL

BK was seen as a very good hire by a VAST majority of people in this country. Sometimes shite doesn't work out. Appears BK started coasting and was too loyal to some assistants over his tenure.
Private money was used to correct the issue very quickly. It's brutally hard to find a great head college football coach.
The job of the AD is as much fundraising for NIL and salaries and buyouts as it is picking the coaches, and he's a world class fundraiser. He has done well in baseball and women's basketball, BK was seen as a good hire we stole from Notre Dame, and it just didn't work out. Basketball program was in ashes and he was pretty limited on who he could hire, but I expect that to be fixed soon as well (with a small buyout).
Hate to say it but I agree. Woodward messed up the Kelly hire but he’s made other good hires and he also got rid of Kelly at exactly the time he should have. He also bleeds LSU. I think you have to hold onto him for now.

We were excited about the BK hire, not just Woodward. People forget this

2 of the coaches he’s hired have also combined for 3 natty’s already.
I keep seeing this line as if Jay Clark didn't exist.
I know Woodward didn't bring Clark to LSU, but he did promote him to Head Coach instead of looking outside the program once DD stepped down.

There is a ton of evidence that would suggest a New AD will be named.
You're getting ready to see the third turnover of University President, AD, and football HC in 6 years.

We know the meetings took place with the BOS and Governor without Woodward. Those are facts.
