I'd like for some of you computer/research whizzes to do a comparison of how many N. LA vs. S. LA kids have jumped ship in the past. I'd bet more from S. LA than N. LA.
Of course there is. There’s a ton more talent in the south, population wise, numbnuts.

This is the way S LA views N LA:
Despite Korea Unification, North and South Louisiana no Closer to making Peace

True story. I over heard a convo at chimes the other day. A guy asks another guy if this was his first time in Louisiana. The guy replies “well I used to live in Shreveport.” Then the other guy says, “oh so this is your first time in Louisiana then, Shreveport is East Texas.” I hear things like that often. It’s so played out and annoying.

I've been saying for years that LSU needs to lock that northern part up. I bet if you look at history, LSU is much more dominant when the northern part of the state is locked up.
We need to own the entire State not just bits and pieces. If LSU can do that then we will be fine. Of course we have been recruiting up there more lately so I hope it pays off. The OLman that was produced in NLA isn't producing the same talent now though. I hope it comes back. It used to be a big hot bed for QBs where as it hasn't been lately either. Hopefully that comes back as well. We could use those big time QBs and OLman from up north.
We need all of our great players to start staying home. Especially if they are QB, LB, DL or OL. We did good up there last year IMO. Baskerville, Cotton, Marshall, Rosenthal and Scott in 18. We got Lowell N in 2017 too. I think all those guys were vastly underrated with some exceptions but most were underrated IMO. We missed on a QB last year but did well up north. That should pay off in the future too. 2020 is already looking like a good year up north and we should rack up.

Absolutely correct. TCU is racking up recruiting N LA, and they finished 2017 ranked #9.

Like I have always said on here, the only time South Louisiana/NOLA claims or wants anything to do with North Louisiana is when a high school player is interested in LSU and when a hurrucane hits! 318!!!

From 1995 to 2011 no high school in America sent LSU more players than West Monroe High School.

West Monroe has the best high school facilities in Louisiana, but the talent isnt close to what it was when Don Shows was HC.

I looked up the '58 team.
Of the three "starting teams": Go, White, Bandits:
7 what I'd call N. LA kids from Ferriday/Clayton, Rayville, Bastrop, Shreveport, Deridder (actually central/west LA).
7 Baton Rouge kids
The rest were from Crowley (1), MS (2), TX (1), MD (1), AR (3 yes THREE), Lake Charles (1), Bogalusa (2), OH (1), Lutcher (1), IL (1), Houma (1), NOLA (1), Gonzales (1), Franklinton (1).
I don't consider Franklinton or Bogalusa as S. LA, y'all might. Lake Charles a toss up.
Feast your eyes upon this and N. LA more than contributed to this great team.
Once again, y'all kiss my arse about this N. LA not being LSU territory.

Born and raised in Baton Rouge, have numerous relatives from Dry Prong up to Jonesboro/Hodge but never have I set foot in Shreveport.
Hell, don't think I've ever even flown over it.
Do appreciate the talent from there representing LSU.

That is a VERY nice, big video board they have! Wonder where they got the money for that thing?
Posted on 7/4/18 at 12:06 am to VolTiger13
Paid for by season ticket holders...something like 6,000

Partly, yes. But there was outside help, too.

Bama, Miss State, Ole Miss, Arkansas, TCU spend way too much time in NELA and get too many quality players.
Basketball is what really pisses me off - the best Louisiana players flock out of state.
