that he wasnt a true freshman?
Posted on 8/13/09 at 11:12 am to The Cable Guy
does TF mean true freshman?
becuase lee wasn't one, and neither was mccoy
mccoy also had an amazing RS frosh year. he had a so-so RS soph year
mccoy also wasn't an SEC QB
in short, you have no idea what you're talking about

Get over yourself dude you fricking loser. I know a lot more than you think. If I mistake about a true freshman, it's my bad. Either way he was a freshman not expected to take a snap.
Ok I was wrong about McCoy, I have to be confused with someone. Let's substitute Jimmy Clausen.
Still doesn't change the fact that I factually know you're a freaking tool/loser.

Lee could get his share of snaps in every game, particularly if Jefferson stumbles or in obvious passing situations.
I especially love this point, which has been made in Advocate articles a few times. Really, we're gonna take JJ out when we need to go 2 min?

considering you thought mccoy and lee played as true freshman and mccoy had a bad first year, i think you know shite
if you know what a linebacker was you'd impress me based on your post earlier in this thread

i like how they've morphed JJ into a non-passer
he's black and he's fast, so he must not be a good passer?

As a member of the media(not in Louisiana), I can tell you most media members could give a damn who starts at QB at LSU.
They do like athletes who can give a good interview, however. I don't know who gives the better sound bite, Jefferson or Lee. But it sucks when the star player cannot make any sense in the post game presser.

Its the media, they always need a story and if this is controversial than they will write about it as far as LSU goes.
calm down.
calm down.

There is no conspiracy...he is just reporting what he saw. Take what you want from the report but the inconvienient truth is that JL 'looked' stronger, sharper and more focused than JJ in the whole 20 minutes allowed to evaluate. 20 minutes does not a season make. Hopefully JL was hardened by the crucible of fire he was thrown into last year...and hopefully JJ is not shrinking from the realization of the over the top expectations and that it is his job to lose.

As a booster/alum/fan, I could give a damn about their interview skills. Them producing when the lights come on is what matters the most to me.

i never see them slip a blurb into every Charles Scott story that RIchard Murphy runs through rope drills better than him. The fact is they get to see basically none of the real practice and havent scouted anything other than the local Mary Lee's yet feel the need to say Lee is better at least a couple times a week for no apparent reason.

What's interesting about that article is that JJ was a freshman last year and Lee was a freshman 2 years ago.
He should have been able to understand what Crowton was talking about last year, no?

I think JJ is going to do just fine.
But, I also think JL is going to do a WHOLE lot better than most fans expect. The kid simply wasn't ready to start last year at the SEC level. Is that so uncommon in the SEC?
The kid got thrown to the wolves and did some good things and some bad things. But, everyone only wants to remember the horrible pick 6's that he threw.
He's had another year in the system to learn the offense (last year he clearly struggled with this) and learn the speed of the SEC. He'll do just fine if called upon.
I truly hope both JJ and JL play lights out regardless of who's on the field.

In the week since fall practice began, Lee has appeared to be the most comfortable and confident quarterback in non-contact drills. He has shown a stronger and more accurate arm than Jefferson or Shepard, crisply delivering the ball right where receivers want it.
During the last 12 roller-coaster months, Lee has evolved from a wide-eyed redshirt freshman — who under the right circumstances might not have taken a snap under pressure yet — to being the most SEC-tested of the group.
randy can tell all of this from the 15 minutes he gets to watch?

I think the completion percentage under 50% might be the basis of thinking JJ needs to work on his passsing.

There is no amount of crisp practice passes that is going to make him more mobile, and that, in my eyes, is the difference.
Noticing an uncovered defender coming to your face side and making a decision that does not result in a batted and intercepted ball is not going improve on the practice field.
I unfortunately feel that many of his problems involve instict and recognition, and these things will only get better under fire. He had ample time to show improvement, and IMO, digressed.
It is good for LSU and possibly himself that he chose to stay and compete, but Jefferson would have to show early and consistent lack of production for Lee to be given significant playing time. The hopes of our season may end up on his shoulders, and I hope he prospers if it does.

Jarrett Lee has always been better than anyone else when wearing the magical "I Know That You Can't Hit Me" Green Jersey.
He is probably a really good passer in Flag Football, too.
But, when he knows that he might get hit, .... well, fuhgettaboutit! His whole game falls apart.

Last year during fall camp the media kept talking about how crisp Lee looked in practice. Saw how that worked out.
