There was a time when an OP and thread like this would have provoked indignation.
Tiger BB fans have been embarrassed so many times by his staff that we're all out of indignation. And Hope.

JJ needs to be let go mid-season if this team shows any signs of quitting.

The team has talent there just wrong coach there. Its time to move on from JJ.
Been thinking about this an didn't want to start a new thread for it and this seems like a good spot to drop it.
Does LSU really care about basketball anymore like it use to? I mean ever since Dale Brown it seems that there isn't that desire to win a championship ( or at least compete for one) from the administration. No doubt the players and coaches have longed for that, but look at the decisions that have been made with the men's program specifically and ask yourself if that's a commitment to win, or just a decision to stay simi-entertaining and not finish dead last every year.
I just do not see a commitment to have a top level program in men's basketball at LSU. That's why I thing JJ will stay until he starts having single digit win years and they have to fire him.

I don't want to believe this but, unfortunately, I think this is the case. I'm not sure who you could consider to be a "team leader" on this club? No cohesiveness whatsoever.

I am at a point of apathy. I used to look forward to games, whether at the PMAC or on TV. Still have season tickets. I know, I know... I might turn the game on tonight to check the score. At this point, while I would never hope for a loss or not want any tiger team to win, I will say that a loss doesn't make me feel bad simply because I have to believe that each loss brings us closer to a new coach.

If we lose by more points than the last time to A&M, I'm good with Randy and Shaq finishing out the season

I find this a little ridiculous. Of course LSU admin want to win... It's not like great college basketball coaches grow on trees. We hoped that Johnnys love for LSU would translate to good coaching. He was known for bringing a fun style to the game and that was needed after Brady's boring ball. It didn't work out, but it wasn't like they didnt want to win.

I hate to say it, but I think those signs are already there brother. The program quit on Jones last season after the Alabama game in Feb. LSU was 9-3 in SEC play going into the Bama game, at HOME. They were still very much in the NCAAT conversation and had just played the #1 team in country (OU) to within an inch of their life.
LSU had a meltdown in the 2nd half of that game and never looked the same, getting blown out by a bad Tenn. team the next game and losing by 20 to an avg. Ark. If not for Blakeney catching fire late in the season, LSU probably would have lost 5 of their last 6 games. As it was, they went 2-4 to close out the reg season and ended the year with an embarrassing 38 point performance against A&M.
It should have been clear to everyone (except, of course, Alleva and Co.) that Jones had lost the program at that time.
This season they are getting crushed by anyone with a pulse and flat out don't care about playing defense despite team after team scoring at will on them. Even the dumbest coach (I'll let you insert your own name here) can recognize the serious problems on D. Yet, there seems to be no desire whatsoever to fix it.
Jones has more than lost the program. Right now LSU is just a collection of individuals trying to show off their individual talents. Jones' style of coaching (or lackthereof) caters to that because there is really no cohesive plan.
Apathy has fully set in at this point. No one is excited to show up to the PMAC. Even the most hardcore fans don't care all that much. Hell, I love LSU basketball. But I completely forgot there was a game tonight until someone mentioned something at lunch.

The "we" is LSU. We're fans. Many of us went to school at LSU. Grew up in Louisiana as LSU fans from birth. We're part of LSU, either literally or emotionally. We don't have to be on the actual team to use the term "we," you dolt.
