The link in the thread shows no tickets available. I’m assuming that they sold out yesterday after your post?

I’m here now, we still have tables.

The sauce on the Chicken, was really great, food was very good, they do a great job.

As for Kelly, he did a great job of answering questions. I was the one asking about having to replace Polian. He addressed finding the right replacement. How Brian was instrumental in building this roster. Finding the right guy and fit.

Talked about not having anyone enter the portal from the roster.

A few former LSU Players were in attendance. Russell Shepard asked about former players being welcomed back. Kelly wants those guys.

Shepard, Michael Brockers, Justin Vincent and DJ Welter were a few of the attendees. Charles Alexander also, he attends just about everything I do. He use to attend the Bert Jones Golf Tournament, for Cystic Fibrosis. Since Covid, we haven’t had one. Would like to see that start again.

Kelly was out the door quickly, just a guess, might have hit a few schools on the way out.

Thx Dad.

Houston needs to be another New Orleans (or better) for LSU, more like in the past...

There is more D-1 talent within a 100 mile radius of Houston, than in the entire state of La. Getting into those schools is the key. I have a number of friends in the coaching profession. A few have LSU ties. LSU is well represented in Houston.

Pretty simple - if you're LSU, do everything you can to dominate Louisiana and anything four hours to the west. That can get you 20 elite players right there. And then let the brand carry you the rest of the way for the remaining spots. That'll get you a very talented roster that is also invested in the region and success of LSU - it's a great combination for success.

Kelly did tell a story, before the bama game, the staff voted to go for 2 if it went to ot. When it got to that point. That asked Kelly what do you want to do? “Go for two!” The staff yelled NNNNOOOOOOO. He said, wait, y’all voted on this Thursday. We are going for two.

Ban the transfer portal , then I might come back.

Gotcha. Until then I guess your college football fandom will remain... in the transfer portal.

Awesome time at the Houston TD Club this afternoon. Food was excellent and Kelly was optimistic per usual. He did say LSU was still about 1 year away from getting the roster the way he wants it. Less use of the portal moving forward should be expected.

Brandon LaFell was also "in the house." He and Coach Kelly had a nice chat after lunch. CBK is the real deal. Loves what he does and enjoys turning young men into productive members of society - especially AFTER football.

Most interesting comment to me was he said 50% of NFL players NEVER sign another contract after their rookie deal..... Always good to have another passion in life after the glory days on the gridiron.
