that one as well as 2007 va tech were pretty damn awful

Bro.. It was at night time and it was raining at the beginning.. And we completely destroyed them, #9 team in the nation at the time. One of the best games I've ever been to

One of the worst for me was Miss State about 6 years ago. Afternoon game that it had rained a little before the game and then the sun came out.. Talk about being humid. I was dripping with sweat the whole game and people were dropping like flies in the stands.

2007 Va Tech was hot during the day and the dehydration from the alcohol but it cooled down at night.

2008 App St was miserable. Luckily Charles Scott put it away early.

Florida Spurrier back in the mid nineties 11:30 kickoff on Jefferson Pilot. Concession stand ran out of water in the first quarter. Lot of people passed out.

There was a game vs. Texas A&M when Curley was coach. Horrible. The last game my dad went to.

Yep, you're speaking of the 1992 opener, which was a 2:30 p.m. ABC game. First Saturday in September. Miserable day, miserable result.

I have not seen it mentioned here, but that 2008 Appalachian State game was originally scheduled to kick off around 4 pm.

That's right, the higher ups at LSU decided it would be a great idea to pack 90,000 fans into a stadium at the hottest part of the day during the hottest part of the year. Who in the frick schedules a game outside at 4 pm in August anywhere in the South? The only reason nobody died is that the impending hurricane forced the game to kickoff at 10 am.

Also, most people forget that Florida Field was turf--that old cement like turf--in the 80s. Temps on the field in September would routinely reach 130 during the day. Imagine being hungover in a wool Tiger Band uniform at field level. Ugh. That sucked.

The game was on espn so I doubt we had too much say in what time it was originally scheduled for.

I actually did a breakdown of hottest games of all time years ago, including heat index. I wonder if it's still in my post history...
LINK

First and foremost, and there is really no debating this, the hottest game in TS history, from both an air temperature and heat index standpoint, was on September 2, 2000, against Western Carolina. The high that day was a scorching 102°, and the humidity came in at 62%, thus making the heat index an oppressive 140°. Yes, that’s correct…140°. The next highest air temperature was 95°, which was accomplished twice, once on September 8, 1990, when the University of Georgia came to town, and again on August 30, 2008, when Appalachian State. So, if you are one of the 87,188 that was cooked to medium-rare while watching the Tigers beat-up on Western Carolina, then congratulations on surviving what is, most likely, the hottest day in Tiger Stadium history.

I thought it was 94?

Until I see some heat stats on that A&M game, it will always be the hottest MF'n game I've ever attended

I've been going to Tiger Stadium since 1957, as a child, then as a student, and since the '70s, as a season ticket holder. The '05 Tennessee game stands out among many, many miserably hot and humid Saturdays in Baton Rouge.

Florida game was warm last season. But it wasn't terribly hot at all.

It shouldn't be mentioned at all

Several parts of the stadium ran out of cold water. That's what made it so bad for a lot of people.

I can't say it was the hottest game ever, but the 9/26/05 UT game was hottest I've ever been to. It was just absolutely jungle hot.

I was living in Huntington Beach, CA at the time. I was scheduled to fly home on Friday evening, but MSY closed because of Rita. I ended up on a redeye that got in on Monday morning. Boozed most of the flight, drank more after landing and took about a 90 minute nap. Six of us went to the game: Me, my brother, his wife, their daughter and two of my niece's friends. We had 4 seats together and 2 together.

Soooo... there I find myself: shitfaced drunk, with three 13 y/o girls in the South Endzone. I'm dying from the heat/humidity, but I keep trying to convince myself that it's because I just flew in and I'd been in CA for a few years.

It eventually became apparent that it wasn't because I was no longer acclimated to the climate, but it was actually ridiculously hot/humid. And then LSU blew a 21-0 lead, which really fricked up my homecoming!
