Sorry if this has been discussed, but I just have a few questions for those that may know. I also realize that I am late to the game for securing a decent price on a hotel in Austin but I figured I would ask anyway. Any suggestions or locations that would be worth looking into? Have searched the web and have a few high price places left but really not familiar with the area so hard to make a selection. Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks and Geaux Tigers!!

get a airbnb. We got way more bang for our buck doing this and we are within walking distance of lots of bars.

Kind of hard given the info given

Perfect world just stay close as possible to downtown. If you don’t mind a longer drive/Uber trip then stay more north near the Domain.

If you want to save money then stay in one of the surrounding suburbs like Cedar Park

If you find a place near the commuter train (red line), you can probably stay further away from downtown and that train brings you straight downtown. It may be crowded though.

I believe the main downtown commute train is down or limited currently as they build a new station in that area.

Saturday service has been suspended.

OP, if you can't stay downtown, look at some of the hotels near the I-35 / US-290 interchange. There is a Holiday Inn, a Crowne Plaza, and a Best Western all booking for less than $200 per night, and it's just a short ride down 35 to campus.

Go stay in Dripping Springs (just South and West of Austin about 20-30 min) at Camp Lucy... The place is incredible

I have a hotel room you can take over. $275/night. Sold out Residence Inn next to campus. Walk to stadium.

Anyone interested, email me at laservet@gmail.com

Please don’t ask the price it’s $275/night.

i was going to say, the light rail is a crap shoot as to if it will be running. I'm not sure why they even have that thing.

Downtown is going to be over $500 a night. You can find some a little north of i35/183 that are priced well.

the area just slightly north of UT has lots of hotels way less than downtown - i35 and 290 like someone else mentioned. Also East Austin Hotel on 6th st just opened and it is almost walking distance to the stadium and near bars and restaurants. In can take up to 2 hours to get an uber after a big UT game so plan on camping out at a bar if you can't walk to your hotel

I'll have 1 or 2 extra rooms available about 3 miles north of the stadium for both Friday & Saturday nights. I can transfer the reservations to someone where you could pay the hotel directly. Think the rate's about $170/night.

Try Round Rock. About 20 minutes (15 miles) from the stadium. Rooms are only about $100 - $120 per night. Not 5 star, but clean, safe rooms. You can also Uber to and from the stadium for about $20.
