For those traveling to the game, is anyone staying in the LA area and getting transportation to and from the game, or are you planning to stay in the Pasadena area closer to the Rose Bowl? We were thinking of staying closer to LA the majority of the trip and shuttling to and from the game on Saturday.

Dude! You’re coming to HOLLYWOOD! So much to do and see here. Pasadena is a sleepy part of LA, so I would highly recommend staying in LA or near the coast on the west side of town. Have fun and see it all! GEAUX TIGERS!

This. We are staying at the Beverly Hilton. The game/Rose Bowl is just a one day part of a larger LA vacation.

Same. I'd like to hear about transportation to Pasadena on gameday too.

Uber or Lyft
It’s how everyone, without a car, gets around in LA.
Public Trans is lame, long and slow.

Yep. A shuttle to/from would be great.

Anywhere along I-210 would be good. It's close to the stadium and you only have one freeway to deal with to/from the game.

Traffic isn't terrible on the freeway. But once you get off and approach the stadium, it can get dicey. The Rose Bowl is surrounded by a really old neighborhood. If you arrive early and leave ASAP, you can avoid the traffic jams.

We are staying at the JW Marriott L.A. Live with the Traveling Tigers. We are using a private car service for our entire 5 night stay, except for gameday. Check them out, they have live messaging and can get you a rate right now as they are a 24 hr service:

When A&M did this a few years ago, we rented a house in the Hollywood Hills, which looked great, but relocated to a downtown hotel due to lack of air conditioning (watch out for this if you do a rental--it was 106 every day, which isn't usual, but if they believe in all this global warming stuff, they better start getting ready for it). This worked fine as we had a parking pass for Lot D on Stubhub. Left at the gun, back in our hotel in 20 minutes. If you park on the golf course, ride a shuttle, or don't get moving quickly, you can sit in traffic a while around the stadium, but the freeways at that time of night on a Saturday should not be a big deal. Certainly, I wouldn't use fear of traffic as a reason to stay in Passadena.

If you are willing to travel on game day, you could stay in Manhattan, Hermosa or Redondo Beaches. It’s a more laid back, non-Hollywood party scene and it’s clean and safe. Hermosa Pier is pretty cool; just be aware that police will arrest you if you are drunk in public and making a scene. You can also stay north of LAX in Playa del Rey or Santa Monica. Safe area and pretty fun.
