Thanks for sharing. It won’t stop people from melting either way, but at least it factually proves that whatever we do, we won’t be alone in that decision.

How many of them have two stud SPs?

When you have 2 Aces, you can save your Ace for game 2
Can you update the results after? Curious to see who gambles and loses today.

Jesus Christ the obsession with this is unreal. Of course there will be teams pitching off, many of which don't have 2 top end starters. Some teams the best chance to win it all in the Regional is to gamble and start a pitcher in game 1 that CAN be good, but you never know, and save your ace for the all important game 2. LSU isn't in that position. We have 2 great starters and should be 2-0 and I think I read a stat where like 95% of teams that start 2-0 go on to win.
I'm sure it is you younger guys that always have all the answers, but my god, just stop.

If you gamble on that and your off pitcher performs badly (which can and will happen to some) and you end up losing game 1....then you are fkd. As you said, LSU has 2 great starters. Getting to 2-0 is the goal. If I were DBU I'd be tempted to gamble and pitch off the first game. Probably their only way of winning. LSU doesn't have to do that. This is insane.

I’m here advocating it’s ok to melt if Jay starts Kade and he gets shut down in the 4th inning becusee of a lightning strike.

This list should also include who the two seed is. Not all two seeds are equal and not all teams have a two legit Friday night guys. If Eyanson was not as dominate as he has been I would bet he would be starting today.

The argument for pitching down is that the 2nd game is the most important either way. If you do lose the 1st game you still have your stopper to keep alive

Who the frick cares who does it, when and why? I don’t give a shite whether it’s right or wrong and the whole issue is, WWJD? And if he started Skenes against Tulane in game one of a Regional, he sure as frick is going to start Anderson or Eysnson vs UALR.
This board is normally fricking stupid but this shite about “pitching off” especially emphasizes it.

Totally agree. Great point Adam. From my standpoint, if Jay allows lightning to strike today during our game we should probably evaluate if he’s even the right guy to lead this program.
You have to anticipate lightning strikes if you wanna win in the sec.

Good info posted there Boosie. Thanks for putting that together

Since 1999 when the current 4 team regional format was established, LSU had only thrown their ace in game 1 as the top seed did the regional. That time was when LSU was facing 4 seed ULM who had future MLB all star Ben Sheets on the bump. LSU has never lost game one or a regional when “pitching off”. Jay Johnson is the only coach at LSU who has been steadfast to start his ace in game 1 against a 4 seed.
