Yeah, this loss really hurts. We needed a sweep this weekend to help our chances of making the ncaa tournament. We had it and lost it. To lose a game like that, especially with how important it was for us, is just really inexcusable. That was bad.

Meaning what? Expecting to win every game?

I believe this not to be the case, we have had top recruiting classes over last several years.

Quit reading the BS. Who are the great arms from 18, 19 and 20 classes? Marceau, Hill, Labas, Fontenot and Beck. Two are hurt.
The young quality arms aren’t ready yet. Either that are they were over rated. But over the last several years not counting the 21 class, we don’t have much to show.

I don't see people trying to diminish what the players are doing. I think most of us are pleased with the effort and the fact they haven't quit at all.

The main complaints are with Mainieri and his staff. Most of us aren't especially thrilled with a baseball team that has been trending downward for several years, and that's squarely on the coaches.

I’m afraid a one run loss when you win the series against the twelfth ranked team in the country doesn’t typically get coaches fired.

It’s not that it was a 1-run loss. It was how that 1-run loss happened. Remember, ole Miss had lost it’s last 3 series. So it’s not like winning the series was a monumental accomplishment. I’ll admit the team is playing better but to lose that game the way we did, EVEN having already won the series, was inexcusable and just adds to the downward trend Paul has had this program going over the last 3 years.

PM needs to retire. If not he’s going to get fired.
The situation today was created way before today because we failed to stockpile our team with pitchers and none of our freshmen have stepped it up.it is on the coach.

Dunn is to Manieri what Tepper was to Dinardo.

Beating a top ranked SEC team 2-3 on the road is always very good. It was good when Skip coached, when Smoke coached and still with PM.

Anyone trying to say otherwise is just showing anti PM bias or their football mentality.

The players did great for two and a half days. I’m not going to try and diminish what they did because of a collapse late today.

This would have been 100% valid about two months ago. However, after the weekend sweeps and falling to where we are in the SEC, you can take that paper crumple it up and toss it in the trash can because that mindset is now expired. The new mindset is that this team needs to win every game at all costs if it wants to sniff post season play. And today was a grand opportunity to take a giant step in that direction. That is what is so bad about the way they lost. They had an 8 run lead and pissed it away. They are literally in "1 game at a time" mode right now. Winning 2 out of 3 would have been a celebration before they managed to go and get swept and was 1-8 at one point in conference play.

It's a low ebb in LSU baseball, and it happened right when it seemed like the program was turning the corner. That 8th inning was the sum of all my fears regarding this team.

I think the series win did make it likely that we will at least get in the sec tournament. We have leads on a few teams now

PM will not get fired....they will maybe ask him to retire, or let him retire on his own, IMO.

Lots of posts are saying that taking the series from a top 10 or 12 team is impressive, but Ole Miss has been losing pretty regularly lately.
... agree... Ole Piss record isn’t anything to brag about in the SEC for the 12th ranked team in the Nation...

Jesus Christ.

Isn’t winning a series over a top 10 team a good thing? Why can’t you enjoy victories like this?

You should be fired from being a fan.

A real fan would know we needed all 3 games. We may get swept next weekend.
