He turned an extremely positive weekend into a downer. For a team that needs every win it can get, it couldn’t afford to lose a game up 8 runs going into the last 3 innings. The lack of quality pitching is squarely on his shoulders and his continued employment of an overrated pitching coach who has once again failed to develop more than maybe a couple of trustworthy pitchers.

His reign as LSU Head Baseball Coach is at an end.

Actually it ends in 2024 or earlier with a few million in his pocket

Actually it needs to come to an end at the end of the season and this game collapse just sealed that.

A series win over a ranked team is the nail in the coffin?

You can be pissed about decisions that led up to the collapse of this game, but going on the road and winning this series is a success....period.

There have been about 100 other "nail in the coffin" moments you can point to this season. This weekend series was a success though.

This board has some of the most over reactionary pussies I've ever seen.

I’m afraid a one run loss when you win the series against the twelfth ranked team in the country doesn’t typically get coaches fired.

We just took the series from a top 10 ranked team

It’s not going to get him fired

It’s 100% not going to get him fired Monday morning

Better hope he retires & Woodward actually searches for a coach instead of going with an easy option

You’re right. I thought maybe they snuck a run in the 7th but it was 8 runs in the 8th and all with two outs. Paul just snoozing in the dugout while Coleman, who was lucky to escape two jams before that, was choking the game away. Then he leaves him in there for two more batters because of stupid arse matchups against lefties when everyone that was following that game knew he was done way before that.

No body gave us a chance this weekend, yes the game is super frustrating but winning 2 of 3 at Ole Miss on the road is not a time to fire PM. Let’s see how this young team finishes

I think all the Mulkey smoke suggest that he isn't going to play games when it comes to making hires.

This really show me how far this program has fallen, when making a point out of beating OM a 12th ranked team and LSU is not ranked. I guess like everything else it’s the new norm. LSU won a series they should expect to win. It’s time for PM to go and take that damn anchor (Dunn) around his neck with him.

This will be the game that everyone points to when we don't make the SEC Tournament

We all knew Ole Miss could easily put 10 on our TBD today. They did. It was no surprise.

It’s a result of several years of poor recruiting, injuries and a lack of development of what we have. Anyone following the team knew we were in trouble before today.

Awesome pitching by three guys won the first two games. Those three are alll we have right now.

Lots of posts are saying that taking the series from a top 10 or 12 team is impressive, but Ole Miss has been losing pretty regularly lately. The only thing they've accomplished recently is avoiding the sweep.

I believe this not to be the case, we have had top recruiting classes over last several years.

Beating a top ranked SEC team 2-3 on the road is always very good. It was good when Skip coached, when Smoke coached and still with PM.

Anyone trying to say otherwise is just showing anti PM bias or their football mentality.

The players did great for two and a half days. I’m not going to try and diminish what they did because of a collapse late today.
