I think he has done a great job for being thrown into a situation that he was not ready for. He's only 18, and a true freshman, give this young man a break.
1. How can you possibly say that he has done a great job? He wasn't ready to play and everybody knows that, but he has been terrible.
2. he's getting younger now?

FWIW, I place much more blame on the coaching staff than I do fans for Lee's frayed mental state.
Of course you do. All fans do is boo and denigrate on the internet. How can that have any, real negative effect? The coaches work with him in a partnership, and yes, they kicked a junior off the team, and the sophomore who was supposed to be his emotional buffer got hurt, in a football game, so he has to play now.
Yep, coaching right there, all there is to it.....

there's always exceptions
don't just go around assuming because someone is young they aren't smart or mature though.

That's relevant.
Therefore, Lee should be booed and treated like shite by his fans. Good point.

I didn't say that.
but that response WAS directed at me, so I responded.
the coaches have not done a good job developing lee this year.
he wasn't supposed to even play.
but here we are 12 games later, nearing the end, and in the first quarter of the game...
same ole lee, locking on to target almost throwing another pick 6.

Okay, so have they done a good job of developing your boy JJ?

Age doesn't necessarily have to be the top characteristics to do with being smart/mature. Just being 19 years old and being put in the situation has got to be scary, challenging mentally and physically, and nerve wracking no matter how smart you are. What makes it worse is he's in this situation with a fanbase who doesn't support him. That's gotta be hard on the guy.

he kept us in that game all right...
with all of his picks.
should have BLOWN alabama away.
You should REALLY invest in some CRIMSON! You are totally delusional! How would we have BLOWN alabama away? HOW?? We stayed in that game, because JL had the nuts to keep running out onto that field, regardless of the circumstances and call all that crazy shite that Crowton dialed up. If LSU had scaled back and played to JL's ability, Saban would have had roasted Tiger on the barbie by the middle of the 3rd quarter. If we all knew that Crowton was rolling the dice with that QB, just like Gary Danielson did, then don't you think that had an effect on the Defensive calls for Bama? If you expect me to believe that the dozen or so plays that JJ could run would have faired any better against Bama than they did against Miss, then you are just crazy. We had what, like 30 or so offensive yards in the 2nd half of the Miss game? Yeah, that would have worked against bama (NOT!)
How can JJ fail to put more than 10 points on the board in a LOSS against Miss, and he's a savior, and JL has had more success, in spite of all the obvious short-comings, and he gets NO CREDIT AL ALL????
I feel for, and support both these kids, but the idea that JJ deserves all sorts of accolades for his efforts and JL needs to have his scholly pulled is asinine.

JJ is still very raw, but from what i've seen and you've seen in his limited time playing, how could you not want to give him a shot?

It's just a sad reminder of what some people have become.
To boo that young man in his home stadium when he's out there busting his arse and doing everything he can for his team is beyond stupid. Many, not all, of the fans quit on this kid. Thank God the kid never quit. For every poorly thrown pass, int, etc he kept on playing. Sometimes he did better, sometimes worst. But, the kid showed moxy to take it all in stride and keep working hard.
Bottom line is that anyone who booed this kid for giving everything he has is a F'n loser and should really feel proud.

yeah it sucks, but no one forced him to play quarterback either.
the starting LSU QB has to deal with a LOT of shite.
just look at flynn and jamarcus.
those two were bashed ALL THE TIME.
but they picked themselves back up and got better.
hopefully lee isn't too crushed.
but I only blame him about 5 percent.
the other 95 is on the coaches.

just to play devil's advocate. These kids do get scholarships for an education and know exactly what they are getting themselves into when you come to a school like LSU....win or else. it's not like we are different from any major program in that regard. hate to see the kid become a hermit but blame the coaches, they have done him no justice this year and pushed this way too far. The fans have a right to boo they pay thousands of dollars a year to see their team, get away from their everyday lives and pull for a winning program. Am I into booing, no i never boo but all this BS about how the fans suck becuase they boo, they paid for the right to boo. The kids know what they are getting into. Lee was very bad this year, thank Mile and his staff for that.
That being said, i want Lee to succeed and i hope he can rebound and have a fruitful career.

Maybe becasue of the fact that we ran about 12 different plays tops with him in. Or that he doesn't even use the laces when he throws, or that he has a funky delivery. He throws hard though.
Ideally, I would like to play both Lee and Jefferson, with JJ as a change of pace guy because he surprised me with his running ability on those sweep type of plays. Also, that first play he came in on was great.
I think Lee is going to get much better. He showed flashes of being a good QB in the first half against Ole Miss. Of course, he was shaky, but he wasn't even that bad. He was throwing good passes, timing it perfectly on plays like out routes to Toliver. He threw a perfect TD pass to Byrd, but Byrd couldn't hang on, plus the Ole Miss DB made a good play on it. The last throw he made to Lafell was a pretty good play, and I think he would have gotten in a pretty good rhythm on the drive going into halftime.

very well said.
the post two down from yours is a good example of someone who derives too much of their self-esteem from the performance of 19 and 20 year old guys in a field.
Just lay off people. Get a life.
Or try some extenz.

I never booed JL. I wish him the best.
but you can have your moxy, and i'll take the QB who has wheels, knows how to pump fake, looks to the secondary throwing option, has a rocket arm, and knows when to take a sack and throw it away.

You my friend need to get a life. I've debated you a few times on this subject and you have been perfectally consistant. An idiot.
You say in one breath that lee wasn't supposed to play and then the coaches havn't developed him. Who's fault is it? You are so ready to cast blame on some 19 year old kid or the coaches, but refuse to accept the reality that lee was not ready, the coaches couldn't get him ready, and the coaches had no other viable option.
JJ is not the answer. You just don't get it. He played over 1 half of football and was responsible for 6 points in the Ole Miss game. He wasn't the answer.
The coaches thought that they could hide their inexperianced QBs, but realized that they couldn't. The O-Line has played dismal compared to last year. And the defense just had too many positions to replace and that is where it hurt.
