I know he has not performed well, but give the guy a break. Its quite obvious to me why LSU fans are considered among the worst in college football.

Why is it obvious that students on campus are no better? I've never seen Lee harassed on campus. Have any of you seen Lee harassed on campus?

If LSU fans are considered among the worst in college football, it's because of the nationwide perception of Louisiana and apocryphal/exaggerated stories.

Because I don't believe in booing your own player as he goes off the field. I bet there were more than a few people on Saturday night that were happy to see him get hurt.

Maybe thats part of it, but at the end of the day, LSU fans are, in general, assholes. Its hard to deny.

When the coach only allows you about 15 different plays from a 200+ page playbook and you are not allowed to audible at the line, then opposing defense is going to eat you alive.

Lee is a good QB, but he has a problem staring down recievers, experience will fix that. Jefferson looks like he can be a good QB too. The coaches need to give the defenses a different look and keep them guessing. Heck, I sit at home calling the plays before they run them, imagine what the opposing coaches are doing.

Booing college kids sucks.

Lee can be a pretty good quarterback, but maybe he shouldn't have come here.

I'm gonna laugh my arse off if he transfers...........to Bama

I don't think anyone dislikes the kid "personally", not many, if any, know him personally. Miles ore to blame than anyone. HE made the decision to dismiss RP knowing that Hatch and Lee would be thrust into tough roles. HE made the decision to start Lee after the 2nd half of the AU even after Hatch was able to play. HE stuck with Lee after many poor performances without even giving him a breather or time to reflect by playing JJ a series or two. Les is not as removed from the fans and their emotions as many might think. His stubborn ways got the best of him. He kept thinking at some point JL would get that spark and sustain it. He didn't and the fans became more and more frustrated. It culminated into JL being booed by his own fans.

Miles could have easily played Hatch more when he was available as well as giving JJ more snaps. That would have taken the pressure off JL some. ALL the QB's should have sheltered the burden of this year. We should have been a run-heavy offense. Defense wise, HE promoted the Co-DC's and that too is on him.

If you feel he coached this team to the previous wins, then you must also agree that he coached this team to the current losses. You can't pick and choose. The bad comes with the good. This year, this team has required more COACHING by far, compared to any of the previous teams under Miles. This team has had uncontrollable issues with RP being dismissed, but the problems are not just the QB play. Everyone talks about how successful he's been here and all the conference wins and so forth. Yet, this year they dissect the problems and assign them everywhere but Miles. The defense problems are attributed to Mallory and Peveto, but when the defense was good "Miles was coaching to wins". No, the entire coaching staff is to blame with Miles being assigned the biggest share because of his position. Head Coach.

This is a point where I wish we had a coach like Gundy that would go to bat for his players and tell everyone that he is doing everything right off the field and hes just not playing well on Saturday's. He never gets in trouble and from what the players have said hes a great kid just having a bad year.

Yeah i wish les was like gundy. And made the switch to a more productive qb earlier in the year as well.

Just confirms what Saban said one time about not playing Flynn and JR more. said he was more concerned with their development and protecting them than winning games or pleasing the fans.

When losing, yes. It is not a thing of beauty to see a 19 year-old shamed in his home stadium.

But for the record, LSU fans pale in comparison to Bama fans. They're annoying assholes, win or lose.

I think he has done a great job for being thrown into a situation that he was not ready for. He's only 18, and a true freshman, give this young man a break.

1. How can you possibly say that he has done a great job? He wasn't ready to play and everybody knows that, but he has been terrible.

2. he's getting younger now?

3. he's 19

4. and a redshirt freshman

He also made the right decision in booting RP. He HAS NOT made the right decision to leave Lee in when he was obviously struggling.

I hope he takes it personally and shoves it down the masses' throats next season.

I can honestly say I never hated on the kid. Yeah, I said things that were factual - like he's having a bad season and shouldn't be starting.

Say what you want, but without Lee, this is a 4-8 ballclub.

While a do agree that the "buck stops" with Miles, this post is just plain piss poor.

There is NO WAY on earth that RP should be on this team. period!

UUhhhhh Hatch had a CONCUSSION in Auburn. No medical personel would have let him on the field to even hold an extra point (I know that's not his role, either, just an example) much less do anything that might require a hit. How much would we care for a coach that played a kid who ended up with cerebral edema and died. Seriously, you are either poorly informed, or only 13 or 14 years old.

[[Miles could have easily played Hatch more when he was available as well as giving JJ more snaps. That would have taken the pressure off JL some. ALL the QB's should have sheltered the burden of this year.]]

So you think Hatch could have been playing with his broken bones in his foot/lower leg? Yeah, he's definatly not pulled his weight the past month. As for seeing more of JJ, how can you possibly believe that the amount of this offense the JJ knows (while his talent is obvious, and his efforts valiant) could have been enough to be effective against Florida, Georgia, or the Alabutt-heads, if he were so ineffective against Old PIssy, over a month later?

In all seriousness. If one wants to send what I guess would be the rough equivalent of "fan mail" to a player, how does one do that?? I'm interested in knowing.

This is the address that I was given to mail a letter from one of my pediatric patients to the team:

Have them send it in care of the football office

I've been following LSU sports for 50 yrs. The more things change, the more they stay the same. LSU fans booed Mike Miley, David Woodley, Steve Ensminger, Bert Jones, Paul Lyons, Billy Broussard, Freddie Haynes, etc. They criticized JaMarcus Russell, Matt Flynn, Matt Mauck, etc.
Those that did all thought the next guy in line was better. Often as not, they were wrong.
Every coach from Paul Dietzel to Les Miles has been the worst coach we ever had and needs to be replaced because of his bad decision making and lousy game management and sorry-assed coaching in general. Granted a couple have deserved it.
I used to believe that crap and actually take part in it until one day I woke up and realized that shite happens in life, you can't win 'em all and if you're a true fan who cares about the players, coaches and team, that none of that stuff is positive or helpful.
I also learned that type of behavior is indicative of the type of life that person leads and his attitude in general. It says more about him/her than any statement it makes about the team. Personally, I wish they'd keep it to themselves!
