These "rivarly" trophies are pretty much garbage.

Eyes on those real prizes

Wonder who got the honor of retrieving the magnolia trophy

Agree.

Created forced rivalry is created forced rivalry.

“The Battle of the Boot” as though we compete for recruits or have had this long standing rivalry between Arkansas and Louisiana.

Listening to the media, you would think the players, coaches, and fans have the Arkansas game circled every year.

The trophy is lame as fook

The boot and magnolia bowl are far from a "rivalry"... but frick it give me all the hardware the tiger trophy case can hold. When it gets so full that we have to make room for the Heisman.... I'll be ok with leaving one of the others out as a paper weight for O.

Posted this in another thread, but it beats repeating. The trophy is made of 24k gold. We should agree to melt it down and split the proceeds to fund scholarships

Screw you guys. I live in Arkansas, so I want the players to pick up the boot and run to Arkansas's sideline with it after we win by 50.

I want utter humiliation.

I never got it. Louisiana is the only of the two states that looks anything like a boot. Arkansas literally relies on us to make the rivalry.

FAKE NEWS.

My problem with the boot is that Louisiana is the boot. Adding Arkansas on top is irrelevant. Why not stack all the way up to Minnesota!?

Does anyone REALLY push that shite anymore? I haven't seen much of it the past few years.

Never understood people who were so against the Arky rivalry. It's actually the one school in the SEC that, like LSU, doesn't have a true rival. Kinda makes sense. It was a pretty good series until the last few years.

So... Fund one in-state scholarship at approximately 3% of the total cost of annual tuition. Got it.

I think it's that when Arkansas joined the SEC, everybody tried to force this rivalry on us. Yes, it does make some sense because at the time, neither team had a true rival. But rivalries have to grow organically. You can't just say, "OK you and you, you're each other's rival now. Let's see some hate."

It's a progression of "trophies" throughout the season.

There weren't physical trophies for beating Texas, Florida, Auburn or Bama, but they are notches on LSU's championship resume.

Win a trophy against OM, win a trophy against Arkansas, win a trophy in ATL for the SECCG, then hoist the ultimate prize in NOLA to cap it off.

It's incremental steps leading up to the most important trophy. Enjoy the ride!

For sure, agree with all that. I think it has a better chance long term than Aggie tho. Don't get me wrong, I can't stand them, but their rival is UT. Eventually, that game is going to happen again and they are going to get it put on Thanksgiving. Then, we start this BS all over again.
