How awesome would it be if Devin White suited up!

Ben McDonald gave the basketball team some good minutes so it’s not impossible. Many of the top athletes play more than one sport in HS, surely there’s a player that could contribute.

Right now, in January? GTFOH

We would be better off playing the walkons we’ve got that have been in the program and gone through the conditioning, which is totally different than for football.

Days went up for a rebound and the Arky players entire body fell into Days outstretched knee while he was landing and he hyperextended it. I’m guessing that tore ligaments. It didn’t look good on tv.

How bout band members? I'm still very impressed with the minutes Tuba gave the team in his last year.

Current team will just have to stay out of foul trouble. Hopefully Darius will be back soon.

Bigby seems to sit out every other game. Be nice if he was more consistent.

Looked like the knee hyperextented. Didn't look too bad to me when it was shown in slo mo but sometimes even the serious knee injuries don't

It’s all about the MRI at this point.

It's happened before. Whenever Chris Carrier was playing for LSU. The whole basketball team caught the flu and some football players filled in.

Definitely hyperextended. Hopefully, just a scare; and at worst, maybe a sprained MCL or something.

When I was at LSU there were always some straight ballers at the UREC. I know it sounds dumb but maybe someone can rise up from there like football coaches always seem to find student kickers.

It's a reach but still.

[quote]And Cooper is redshirting because he is skinny and they wanted to put some weight on him. He wasn’t expected to be needed, but with Sims and the other injuries, he may be. [/quote

Can he play a limited number of games and retain his redshirt similar to the four game football redshirt rule?

That game didn't actually happen because the game got postponed, but there was going to be a game with several football players taking the place of many the players who had chicken pox.

Depending on Darius Days’ injury, could be down to 7 scholarship players.

7 isn't as bad as it sounds, especially when those 7 are pretty good players. Losing anymore and/or losing one of the two big men, that would be a time to worry. I think Wade has shown he can get quality minutes from walk-on's (Reese and Graves). Obviously they are not in the same caliber as the other 7, but you only need a couple minutes from them to rest a starter. Anybody that remembers the 1986 season knows how bad things can get, and LSU still did well enough to make the NCAA Tourney. LINK
But, if things get that bad, I'm sure, like you mentioned, they can pull the redshirt off Cooper. I don't think Hyatt will be rehabbed enough to play yet. I guess Kingsby has left the team already. I know he is transferring during the spring, but I don't know what his status with the team is right now. Lets just hope Days injury isn't bad and no one else gets injured. Losing Wayde as a person hurt, I really wish he was still with us.

that was a special circumstance when ther ewas a chicke npox epidemic on the team. None of the football players I listed made any significant contributions to the basketball team. Graves and Reese will be far more productive than any other athletes they pull from other sports. You don't just drop someone into the mix over playes who have been working in the system for a day or two.

I know some fans seem to get all tingly when a football player tries to play basketball but usually not much is accomplished. Now , the band could be a different story.

Jesus Christ is it really so hard to preview your post and proofread it? Downvoted just for lack of proofreading resulting in a load of garbled crap.
