When you have the opportunity to play for a coach with a track record of putting elite guards into the NBA like Coach Johnson at a powerhouse like TeeCoo, you have to pull the trigger.

We don't know. It's not a done deal at this point, just likely to happen.

It's weird that we're only hearing from Morgan's AAU coach and no one else on this.

I love people saying Hammink sucks, but says we HAVE to take Er now. Why does anyone think Er is better? Also, the thought of Coleman or bridgewater at the 2 is terrifying. They are power forwards in small forward bodies. Just because they are good doesn't mean they will be good as a second ball handler. Hammink came over with high expectations and good bloodlines. The guy will get a lot better throughout the years, clueless as to why people have given up on him.

To people's credit, I'm pretty alone in thinking that we should Er (and in the minority in thinking that Hammink can be a good player for us). Not have to (don't think anyone said that), but should. I did say we need to have at least 4 guards on the team though.

Sad news.

Nothing against the kid, but he wasn't going to play much with the new guys coming in this year and next.

He was definitely going to play this year and since we have no commits for 2014 you can't say those guys are going to push him out.

I was told by a good friend of Malik's that he'll likely end up at Tulane next year.

They'll suck next year, but Conroy has signed 3 or 4 guys since all the transfers happened. Surprisingly the new signees look pretty good compared to the guys he usually got, aside from Tarrant/Davis.

I'm sure Malik thinks he can take over the Ricky Tarrant role if he goes there. Which pretty much means he'll be abled to put up as many shots as he wants. He'd probably enjoy that.

Have you seen anything on this aside from statements from Quannas White?

I know LSU is still trying to keep Morgan around. I just think it's weird that only his AAU coach is talking.

Did you follow the link. The newspaper story claimed to have verification from three sources close to Morgan. Jones could still talk him out of it but probably not.

I also noticed that assistant coach Kirby is reported to have signed a contract with Memphis State. That hasn't been officially announced either.

Also followed a link where it was said that 40% of all college basketball recruits are not playing at their original school after their sophomore year. Wow! Didn't realize it was that bad.

Hearing that guard Malik Morgan will be staying at LSU, contrary to rumors he was transferring last week.
