Standing room only?

Posted by ibdcooldude on 4/19/25 at 12:35 pm
My wife, baby, and I are going to the baseball game this evening. Standing room only concourse was the best we could find to purchase. In your experience do y’all think we will have somewhere to sit or do you think we will be standing the whole game?

Yes Fox is 720P, however WGMB is bypassing the Fox splicer and bringing the feed into a AJA FS1 and converting it to 1080i as everything is converted to 1080i before it goes through all of their other equipment. It then goes to a MPEG4 encoder with Variable Bit Rate, however each of the sub-channels are only allow a certain bit-rate.

I believe that the Fox signal is converted back to 720P somewhere along the line, but I don't remember at this time.
I'm surprised this is still happening. The feed to Alexandria was just upgraded about 2 years ago. It now only has one microwave hop. That was the main issue in the past. Dilbert, the feed to Alexandria does come from WGMB's master control though, and they don't care much about WNTZ since it isn't their main station.

The issue with WGMB is possibly that the feed from FOX comes in at 720P is then converted to 1080i before being rebroadcast, however, I haven't been working in broadcast for over a year, so their might be something else that I am missing.

I worked for KADN FOX 15 in Lafayette, but we were all owned by Nexstar at the time. Does that station look bad to y'all as well?
In a interview yesterday, with Ben Love from the Lafayette sports station 103.7, Justin Vincent stated that Key had a 45% chance of coming back, and Guice had a 65% chance of coming back. Look at the interview around the 10 minute mark, that is when he starts to answer the question.

Just passing this on. I do not know if he has any inside information. I just know that he is now affiliated with TAF and the program.

Justin Vincent's Opinon on the return of Key and Guice

Edit: Personally I don't think there is a chance for either and I think it would be in there best interest to leave.

Are you watching over the air? or cable?

If you aren't watching over the air with an antenna, then it could very well be your provider(cox, directTV, dish) that is compressing the signal.
I haven't really kept up with Nicks, but he is only 28. Did he have an injury or something?
Well some guys I know are running High home and High first, so that is good to hear. Just wish I could watch it.
Maybe he is taking estrogen or something.
CST needs to go away. They must have a horrible marketing team. I mean, they have huge sporting events like this, but nobody can view it. The pelicans switching to FOX helped them in viewership a ton.
Please forgive me if this is a stupid question, but why do we want Lyle? He is not ranked on ESPN. Is he just been hidden, and they don't know about him?

Pelicans say PF Anthony Davis has right wrist sprain. Will not return.

Wasn't in any real pain though.

Too many dunks

I wonder what the Kentucky fans who attended thought about our event.

I wonder if that is why he didn't have them play defense, since anyone could get in. He didn't want to give a early scouting report to anyone.

What is not to understand? Just based off of previous experiences with people. Not sure it matters, but I just thought it was interesting.

Who is the guy to Blakeney's left? It seems that Blakeney might be more comfortable with him, as blakeney has him arm around him and not Coach Jones. There is also the possibility that he just didn't have time before the picture was taken.

Finally!! Someone with some sense.
You're hoping your son changes his name when he gets older? kinda strange

smh no faith in Glenn, lol
This might be true, but Wing just got into the league and has a big ego, which might hurt him. As you can see the Viking just cut a kicker that wouldn't keep his mouth shut. Also can Donnie Jones kick-off?

First LSU baseball game

Posted by ibdcooldude on 5/4/13 at 10:15 am
I want to start off by saying thanks to everyone that made the experience great last night!

Me and my dad went to our first LSU baseball game last night. Well as we are passing by the left field bleachers ticket check in, my dad walks over to ask them where the box offices are located, and the worker just gave him two tickets instead of making us walk around to the front. Then inside, the fan were great. Either talking to us about multiple topic and joking around, or giving us stuff to make the experience even better.

So again, I would like to thank all the left field bleacher fans for making my first experience at the Box so great.

Gulffisherman are you saying that they only sell the SRO tickets at lsusports.net?

The only two tickets left there are on the opposite sides of the stadium.

LSU baseball tickets?

Posted by ibdcooldude on 5/2/13 at 11:09 pm
Do they sell standing room only tickets to the games? If so, do they sell them every game? How much are they?

I am trying to go to my very first LSU baseball game. Since tomorrow is my final day of classes in college, I thought it would be a great time to finally attend a game with my dad. That is the reason I am asking these questions. I believe every game is already sold out, or will they have regular tickets on sell at the Box office? Thanks in advance.
