I was taught in junior high to not save an ball going out of bounds by throwing it towards the other team's goal.

Not at all. Watford touches the ball every time it goes through the hoop. It’s idiotic because it’s been a point of emphasis for the last several years - do not touch the ball after makes. Pretty simple concept. Yet here’s Watford doing it every time. He’s like a child who can’t help himself.
