Nah. Someday I'll get to tell my grandkids about this!
I wish there was a way for Tyrann to get paid for all of the people making Honey Badger t-shirts. But my guess is that after the 2012 season, he'll be just fine financially.

Hopefully Chicken will let him off with a warning.

I bet you never imagined that the media would be all over this the way they are right?? Well done Mike, well done

Hell no. I thought it was just a witty observation. Friend from work sent it around and I just thought, holy shite, this animal epitomizes the way Mathieu plays: no fear, badass, doesn't give a shite, takes what he wants.
Good thing he likes the nickname.

Why are there literally 2 threads about this? From the same guy and it has the same title.
Hello?

Well I can't really argue with you there.

I love the nickname. Better even is the fact that the younger fans who eat up videos like the Honey Badger on YouTube think it's hilarious and relate so much easier.
I routinely text my friends Honey Badger quotes. One of the best player comparisons I've ever heard of.

I have to chime in. No one can't imagine what this simple comparison (honey badger/tm7)has done and will do to TM7's career. I'm amazed at how fast this phenomenon has taken off. Al Michaels with his "NFL version of the honey badger" reference was huge as a gauge to the following of our dynamic player, Tyrunn Mathieu.
.
ESPN, ABC, CBS, and Fox were using the "honey badger" reference all during the time when TM7 was debating on the nickname. Then a "pistachio" commercial using the "honey badger" video, all of a sudden appears on tv. All this is a tribute to the popularity of LSU, TM7, and of course Tigerdroppings and MikeLinbacker.
I would probably have to estimate, 95% of the sport's world, this including the common folks like us rantards, other fans of other teams such as Bama, WV, etc, and especially the national media talking heads, Chris Fowler, Kurt Herbstreit, Brent Musberger, Al Michaels, any many others would have never ever seen the "Randall narrated honey badger" video if not for MikeLinbacker's comparison. There is definetly a "honey badger" fever and it has caught on nation wide.
