Honestly though - LSU is middle of the pack

They will swing and miss on another QB in a recruiting cycle - that will set the program back another 3 years. They have fallen behind OM & Arky in the west. The gap between Tuscaloosa & BR continues to widen. As long LM is at LSU and chokes any development at QB, the program is 8/4.

The blind disregard for the truth is just.... sad.
Even since getting blown out in the BCSNC and never sniffing Atlanta since then, LSU is among the top 3 winningest SEC programs. This is just.... horrible.

The last 3 years our SEC record is 14 - 10 finishing 4th, 5th and 3rd. That looks like middle of the pack to me. But please do correct me if facts get in your way.

Hey stop it, quit using facts and logic to back up your argument, the posi-tigers will get upset you are not being a lemming and blindly following the heard just because you are a Tiger fan.
Middle of the road is not an option with all the talent we have and as much as we are paying our coaching staff - matter of fact it is an embarrassment. I truly like Miles and really want him to succeed because i feel he is good for LSU and a great man. That being said with the latest news that we still have the highest paid staff in college football and with the recruiting classes we have had in my book Miles only gets one more year to right this ship and if he doesn't than as much I like the man and want him to succeed there has to be consequences for under-achieving year after year after year, someone has to pay the piper and that someone ultimately is Miles as much as I hate saying that.

I love Les Miles. From what I can tell he is a wonderful person, and his players love him. He is a credit to LSU. He is also a very good coach. He does a great job about 90% of the time.
It is, though, hard to disagree with Toss Lead 38's post. I do not see LSU having a consistent pattern of 11-2 or 12-1 seasons with LM at the helm. We are much more likely to finish in the 10-3, 9-4, or 8-5 range each season, with maybe an occasional season above that. Our program is definitely below Alabama's program, and the OP is right that Arkansas and Ole Miss have at least gotten to our level or perhaps have passed us. We are good for 2-3 losses in the West each year.
My heart wants Les Miles to take us to 13-0, 12-1, or 11-2 on a consistent, year-to-year basis, but my mind tells me that this is not going to happen. When the LSU administration decided to retain Coach Miles, they decided that it is more important to have a good person who is a very good coach leading our program than having a great coach who can have us compete for championships every year. That is not an unreasonable choice.

Lmao...you are a special kind of idiot calling Arkansas and om above our program when one has lost 7 games the last 2 years and the other 11 games....lmao...oh and they are supposedly at the pinnacle of their program success....lmao....you kids are incredible....I guess we need to see some positive momentum like an improving trend line on wins and losses...a better recruiting class...and a Vegas projection of winning the sec next year...wait....

You guys whining need to do something about it then. All you do is bitch and moan while LSU continues to lead the sec in ticket sales. News flash, the money ain't drying up and has been making even more during Miles tenure.
Everyone talks about this being a business, well LSU has received their return on the investment if looking at the worth of the program. Forget results and scores. The amount of money alone shows that Les was a good investment. Moving forward may be a diff story though. But he's still here because they were making money and you people bitching continue to shell out that money.
