How to watch a replay of Auburn-LSU?
Posted by Zelig on 10/15/17 at 8:51 am
I was at the game but would like to watch a replay. It was on CBS so I assume that WatchESPN is not an option. Does anyone have a suggestion about watching the replay? A link would be particularly helpful.

She is quite a piece of work and should not be taken seriously by any thinking person. Her claim about a noose was an embarrassment--indeed, the president of the LSU NAACP chapter referred to it as a "silly overreaction."
This is clearly a person who cannot be trusted for anything that she says. The fact that there have been no public pronouncements about the alleged racist event at her apartment is telling. The most likely explanation is that this is a racial hoax. Note that F. King Alexander jumped through the hoops that she held up for him.

Gotta agree on this one. I am not a fan of Donald Trump at all, and even I find that CNN is in "piling on" mode. They obviously have hurt feelings from Trump's criticisms and have moved into attack formation. CNN certainly has set aside any sense of journalistic detachment in their coverage of the President and current politics. What strikes me is CNN they will comment on any rumor, no matter how unlikely or unverified, as if it is the truth or something they "know." Look, Trump deserves a lot of criticism, but there is enough to criticize without going beyond reasonable journalistic bounds. CNN is not balanced in its coverage, and I have stopped watching CNN for political news. And I say this is someone who is a critic of much of what President Trump says and does.

Does anyone know which employees are being accused? Was it more than one employee?

The East Baton Rouge Parish Metro Council on Wednesday reduced the required setback width on a well-traveled stretch of Perkins Road, scaling it back from 125 feet to at least 100 feet. Perkins Road, from Glasgow Avenue to Congress Boulevard will be affected by the change. Property owners in those areas will be able to build closer to the right of way than they could in the past, including the visible and well-known mixed-use development Rouzan. John Delgado, whose district encompasses that portion of Perkins, pushed for the change.
Yes, besides being a jerk, Delgado has been another of Spinosa's lapdogs. Getting caught up with this couldn't have happened to a nicer guy.

In particular, look at Mickey Skyring's bank account around that time. He was the council member who ran for his seat by running against Rouzan and then once elected became TS's best buddy. I remember that he would not accept phone calls from his constituents and was clearly TS's sycophant on the issue.

Kennedy needs to go. He is "conservative" on some issues but has shown a willingness to substitute his personal opinions on issues for legal reasoning. His same-sex marriage ruling was a case of him substituting his personal view on this issue for the Constitution and law.
The focus of this bill is not on picketing per se but rather on individuals who disrupt the activities of others. The law appears to fully permit protest but prohibits protesters from interfering with others. Someone can protest or picket a government building, but do the protesters have a right to prevent a person from getting into the building? I am all for peaceful protest, but individuals do not have a right to protest if in so doing they disrupt the activities of others.
I am not saying that this law is constitutional--I haven't read it in its entirety--but protesters do not have a right to interfere with others going about their business. If the law only prohibits actions by protesters that interfere with others, then I do not see a problem.

There is at least one 84 Lumber in Baton Rouge. I hope that many of you contractors--at least those of you in favor of the rule of law--will take your business elsewhere.
Last coherent speech? Probably. But the speech was coherent in its consistent wrongheadedness. No doubt we will hear a lot of incoherence in speeches over the next four years, but sometimes it will be incoherent correct and others it will be incoherent incorrect. What is worse? Coherent but mostly wrong? Or incoherent but right some of the time?
I dated a girl years ago who worked in the ticket booth at a movie theatre in another state. She said that Christmas Day was crazy busy with people coming to watch the movies. I gather that there were families who viewed Christmas Day as movie day and who saw going to the movies as part of their Christmas celebration.

1. Hurts touchdown with three potential holding calls left uncalled.

There was a time when Cokie Roberts was a terrific political analyst, but those days are long gone, ever since she substituted her political views for political analysis.
re: How many SCOTUS appointments will Trump get?
Posted by Zelig on 11/13/16 at 9:00 am to GeauxxxTigers23
I can easily see three and maybe four--Scalia replacement, Ginsberg, and then Breyer or Kennedy--but it could be more than that if Thomas decides that he would rather have a Republican president make the appointment then some future Democratic president. Even two appointments could shift SCOTUS, but more than that could start to undo a lot of the damage left by the current court and previous courts.
All of this depends on the dependability of President Trump to name conservative justices. With Republican control of the Senate, now is the time to move, but I am not completely sure that President Trump will dependably nominate the kind of justices that are needed to shift the court. I hope so.
By the way, I think that there is a reasonable chance that the Republican Senate majority will change the filibuster rules to permit a majority vote on SCOTUS nominees. Without it all of the Senate Democrats who have criticized the Republicans for stonewalling President Obama's nominees will now find that this is a fair and reasonable strategy. Senate Democrats will make every effort to prevent President Trump from making his SCOTUS appointments,so it may take changes in the filibuster to get that done. Recall that Harry Reid pushed through a similar rule change in 2013 to permitted majority votes on federal nominations below the level of the Supreme Court.

I was at the game and would like to see (1) some of the officials' calls, many of which looked dubious to me (2) a great defensive effort, and (3) where the offensive breakdowns occurred.
Also, some posters are saying that this game will be on the SEC Network. The game was broadcast by CBS Sports, so I am assuming that SEC Network would not have access to the replay. I looked on the replay schedule for the SEC Network and our game is not on the schedule. Does CBS Sports have a replay option?

First, I am sorry that I missed your original post and duplicated your question. It is hard to keep up!
Second, I don't understand the down votes to this question. I think that it is very fair to ask if Brandon Harris under Coach O is a better quarterback than Brandon Harris under Coach Miles.
quote:
That's not to say he won't still have accuracy or decision-making problems, but not telegraphing our plays can make any QB look better.
I must say that I have been impressed with how Etling can look off the receiver and hit the open receiver. I noticed that on Dural's second touchdown--he looked to the left before throwing to Dural on the center-right side of the field. I don't think that I saw that very often with Harris.
Brandon Harris under Coach O?
Posted by Zelig on 10/18/16 at 12:30 pm
Honest question: Is the inept quarterback play of Brandon Harris due to his own ineptitude, or is it the end result of Les Miles' approach to coaching quarterbacks? Harris has a lot of physical tools at his disposal and should be able to play at a higher level, but I wonder how differently he would perform under the new leadership now coaching the offense.
I am very happy with Danny Etling's QB play, but if he should get injured could we expect better QB play from Harris under the new coaching regime?

It is time that F. King Alexander be fired
Posted by Zelig on 9/25/16 at 4:21 pm
F. King Alexander has really screwed this situation up. We could have made a coaching change at the end of last season, but instead he panicked and decided to keep the program on the current path. We could have avoided this early-season meltdown if he had done the right thing at the end of last season and had a new coach in to start this season.
re: Any ideas on how to handle neighbor from Hell?

With sufficient documentation, is it possible to get a court order to stop her from having any contact with you? She clearly is harassing you, and I would think that there are laws against this kind of harassment.
Also, is she doing this kinda stuff with other neighbors?
Good luck, man. This sounds like a nightmare.

re: Ben said in the post game interview, he's the best player.

This is right on target. If he had Ricky Blanton's heart, Rudy Macklin's will to win, and his talent, he would be the greatest player in the country.
Simmons is an extraordinarily talented and skilled basketball player, and during his best moments I love to watch him play. But after watching him the entire season, I've concluded that he lacks heart and the killer instinct to be considered among the very best players in the country. He has long periods in games where he becomes a non-factor, and at key moments he either refuses to (or can't) take over the game. His talent and skills are apparent, and if he developed heart and a killer instinct he could be the best player in the country. But taken as a whole he isn't event he best player in the SEC. Right now I think that the two Kentucky guards--Ulis and Murray--are making bigger contributions to their team.
I would love to see what Simmons could do with a good coach andn with well-coached players around him. I think that it was Jay Bilas who said that if Simmons had gone to Kentucky he would have been a real force and would have had an even better season.
