They will do just fine - did well against Oregon - plus the QB won't have as much time to pass as he has the previous games...

this couldn't be more wrong, I think Geno will have just as much if not more time than D Thomas and way more than Relf had

Ummmm... you do realize that Gino didn't play in any of LSU's first games? The comment means that Gino will not have as much time in the pocket as he did when WV played the cupcakes!

The D-line will bring plenty of pressure, I'm not sure why you would think otherwise. Marshall had 9 TFL against WVU plus a sack and Maryland had 8 TFL, hell even Norfolk St had a sack against them. LSU will get pressure all day long

Why are you quoting me? I didn't say that.

They will be consideredoverrated by the time this game is done. Wvu's offense I mean. Just like the others.

Our D-line will play great

but to say Geno will have LESS time than Relf and D Thomas is a lot bolder of a statement than the original poster thinks, that's my point

"I honestly expect 2-4 picks. They literally won't be able to run it. Expect 50 pass attempts"

Dude, I hate to break it to you, but Geno has only thrown 8 picks since he has been the starter (game 1 of last year.) I seriously doubt he throws 3-4 in this one. But yea, I expect 50 pass attempts....and hopefully he completes about 35-38 of those for about 300+ yds.

Mo may be the leading receiver after this one.

WVU's passing offense consists of short drops and quick throws to negate pressure. Darron Thomas and the Ducks effectively employed a similar strategy, preventing LSU from recording any sacks. We're going to see a deluge of bubble screens, passes to the flats, passes to RBs, slants, ins, and outs.

There is a chance that it will be raining during the game correct? That takes away a lot from a team that is 7th in the nation in passing and 107th in the nation in rushing.

West Virgina has pretty much only played against teams who utilize a zone defense in the secondary. Against a zone, a good qb and some quick receivers can throw the ball around all day long. However, LSU has the talent in the secondary to play man defense. This makes it very much harder to pick apart. Add a little pressure up front and heavy reliance on the pass becomes a liability.

If we play a soft zone, West Virginia will do what they do every week, throw all day. If we play tight cover, we will be the ones with three picks.

He didn't throw a lot of ints last year either. Didn't LSU contribute almost half his INTs last year? What makes you think he won't in this game? On arguably a better defense with your offense being more one-dimensional.

They'll have some success on short quick routes and gain a couple hundred through the air, but that'll be it. Maybe 17 points

That's what I kind of see as well. Maybe in the 20s depending on our return game and LSU mistakes. I still have LSU winning this game, but it won't be dominant. A little less ugly than last year but around the same result

They will probably fare about the same as they did against Oregon ...... which was not that bad. Just let them play the game and time will tell.

Furthermore, I really have no idea why anyone is worried about any facet of this game. Don't get me wrong, I respect WVU and think that they have a very good football program with a history of success, but LSU will destroy them this season. In seasons past it could be a very different story. This LSU team is lights out and have arguable the best secondary in the country. WVU possesses no running threat and they will try and pass all day long. One-dimensional teams do not fair against defenses that are the caliber of LSU's this season. You throw Noel Devine back in the mix, then they have more of a shot. LSU will get pressure and they will get a lot of pressure. The sack total might not be high because Geno Smith gets rid of the ball so quickly, but he will be forced to make mistakes because of the hurries. This is no disrespect to WVU as a program, but LSU wins 31-10

Once the ball is placed for play

they will scrap WVU for it

that's all we can ask IMO

I'll give you that, but we also got to Thomas all game long. Didn't have all that many sacks, but the hurries took their toll

WVU is going into this game planning on attacking the strength of this D, our secondary.
