What will be the reasons/excuses?

I understand the season faring much better than expected, but let’s put a microscope on the offense. Let’s consider what could be with an updated look.

Note: I do give credit to O for Joe Burrow no doubt and it was a fabulous move. Also, he’s recruiting elite RBs.

But the WRs, Oline and scheme are suspect.

A&M's elite rush defense made us one dimensional and our shite O line couldn't protect. E/O go for max protect scheme again with similar results as the rest of the year.

Sure hope it doesn't play out that way, but if it's going to go wrong, that's likely how.

Why do people like Project this stuff. The offense will be ok. The offense will be effective if the O line can protect and we can get a running game going.

The personnel issues on offense are not getting solved this week.

You answered it yourself.
WRs, O line and scheme is suspect.
But I have a sense the offense will click when called upon.

I will be disappointed for about 5-minutes, then realize I'm an adult, watching young men play a game, and I still have great friends, family, work, trips, and bills to pay. Life goes on.

Reasons and excuses are two different things.

Sums it up nicely for me also.

I agree. Ensminger hasn't shown the ability to scheme around our OL issues and if A&M's DC makes adjustments, then SE is lost. Throw in WRs who seemingly can't catch a cold let alone a pass that hits them in the hands.

I've thought about this for a few weeks.

I think Ed O wants to run a multiple offensive scheme. We've tried some up-tempo, read option, spread, and pro style concepts this season. The problem is that he thought SE could do this. SE has never run a lot of these concepts, so I'm not sure why O thought he could do it successfully. Maybe they should have met with the Saints coaches for more than a day.

So if the offense sputters, it will be because we don't have an answer for when we can't run or protect. Which has been the case all season.

I don't disagree that the oline is bad. But I think there are issues with the offense not being cohesive as a whole. And thats on the coaching and teaching. Unless all of our players are just dumb.

Coach O better be firing some people on the offensive side of the ball if this happens. Its been pretty much 3 years under O on offense and the same shite is still happening ,bad oline play,wr drops, qb game manger not game changer below avg scheme. Are we really going to keep doing this?

Maybe so. But what makes you say that? I haven't seen anything resembling a good or decent offense since the UGA game.

That's a very big IF, seeing as how A&M's rush defense has been very good up to this point. The OL has struggled against some very bad teams. What makes you think they won't have trouble against a good rush defense?

If we can’t run the ball, then we will fool them with play action passes (assuming they don’t play mostly zone coverage).

Hopefully we don’t stay ultra conservative on offense like we’ve been the last few weeks, not including the worst team in D1 game.

This is why LSU fans are disappointed with 9 and 10 win seasons.

We are on the brink of consistently competing for titles all while not having any competence on the offensive side of the ball.

With an even half decent offense, LSU could consistently compete with Bama, thus giving us a shot at division, conference and national titles.

How will we be able to run PA if the OL can't block? This was the problem in the Bama game. Ensminger kept calling slow-developing PA plays that got blown up because the OL couldn't protect Burrow.

If we lose? Legit reason to be pissed

Win? Be cautiously optimistic
