I've thought about this for a few weeks.

I think Ed O wants to run a multiple offensive scheme.

I think you're giving him too much credit. I don't think he has the slightest clue as to what kind of offense he wants to run. It seems to change every time he's asked about it.

I agree. Ensminger hasn't shown the ability to scheme around our OL issues and if A&M's DC makes adjustments, then SE is lost. Throw in WRs who seemingly can't catch a cold let alone a pass that hits them in the hands.

I remember Archie Manning, arguably the best QB to come out of college who could not do anything behind a horrible Saints offensive line.

NO PROTECTION = HARD TO PASS
and you are right, our WR corp is not helping....
we would have likely won the FL game.

Hey, we might lose, don't give up hope yet that you can pull a few "I told you so''s" off next week

Better question, what if the offense excels Saturday.

It wont be (putrid). Burrow will run RPO tempo out of 1-1, deep shotgun, zone read sets, hitting quick wr slants and te/hback pop passes short middle.

Connect on a couple of these to establish the threat, then hand off to CEH, Fornette or Provens, or qb keep off the read.

Take a couple intermediate/deep shots, per quarter, but keep everything else quick, fast and relentless.

We got this.

It’s been putrid all year, so I’m well prepared for the scoreboard carnage.

Arkansas shut us down. Let that sink in. Saturday night is going to be no walk in the park.

This is exactly why I'm worried.

Play action only works if you can run the ball

Putrid? They maybe have one game where the offense showed out. And still they won 9 games. They can still win if they win field position. Same story as all the other wins. You have to score when you get into field goal range. We have a +12 T.O rate while the Aggies have a minus 8. That is the main difference in our success and their failure. If the pattern continues we will win.

So if the offense sputters, it will be because we don't have an answer for when we can't run or protect. Which has been the case all season.

I agree with this. But I can't help but think back to Fall camp and hearing about how great this O-line was going to be. One couldn't even question the strength of this O-line without being completely destroyed by the Rant.

Actually, we shut us down. And then made the D hold on.
That won't happen against the Aggies.

And they didn't know at the time that Ed Engram who was one of the best would be suspended. They didn't know that half the line would get banged up and they had to steadily re-shift players trying to patch up weaknesses. No rythym because they had a different line up every game. A hot mess is what we have had.

This goes back to the very beginning with Kiffin. We are trying a lot of the things that he did at Bama. And Briles has done these things as well under Kiffin at FAU. So yeah. I think Ed O does know what he wants to run. They just don't know how to do it effectively. In teaching, game planning, and adjusting during the game. Running a multiple offense is a good idea, IMO. But it's complex and I don't think our current staff knows how to teach it effectively. Which is why O said they need to simplify the offense a couple of weeks ago.

I don't remember this

I do remember a shot load of 7-5 and 6-6 predictions though

Receivers (the ones that should be playing) are young, they'll be fine.

I hope that we'll get Ingram back next year. We should see Rosenthal play some snaps if it won't burn his redshirt.

Scheme, sucks.
