Not confident that we can hit their average bullpen arms. It seems to be hard to compensate for the woes of our pitcher’s walks and those batters who are impotent at the plate.

Now,with that said, if we get good pitching we can win this in a close one. All the marbles are on Evans, Cowan and even a Benge appearance if necessary.

So……we win but barely.

For us to beat the shite out of them we'd be relying on their pitching falling apart and probably some defensive breakdowns too.

We beat them 7-0 Friday and still stranded several RISP. Their best pitching didn’t give us problems in that one. We also had 11 hits last night. We just have to get them when they matter and we win big.

Seriously, I just don’t see any fire in this group. I don’t see anyone that plays with any emotion

You don’t drive runners to the plate with emotion.

Emotions don’t throw strikes.

The two biggest problems last night. Giving free bases away and not capitalizing when we had RISP.

We lost a super regional series against Stony Brook trying to play hero ball and their rag arms shut us down - they probably never threw a pitch over 90 mph

Stony Brook isn’t a real comparison. They didn’t just get hot down the stretch, but were great all season and dominated their conference. I’m pretty sure one of those pitchers played in the majors and another was drafted. I know at least one player from that team played in the bigs.

Depending on what team shows up - That’s Baseball!

Isn’t that the excuse for losing

That would be trouble. The lineup looks like it should dominate, but falls really short. If a team (like DBU for example) doesn't walk people and make a bunch of errors, they struggle to string hits. Jones and Braswell are automatic outs right now.

If we get up on them, it’s going to get ugly.

Yeah, like if we go up 3-0 in the first inning I can see LSU dominating, just like last night.

I thought last night would be a tough game, but that we would win. They looked bad. So for tonight, it just depends on if they are focused. Guess we will see what they are really made of.
9-4 Tigers!

Y’all should smoke them tonight. While last night wasn’t ideal, this is where depth comes in. LR doesn’t have the dudes on the mound to keep LSU at bay another day.

I’ve got to believe the Tigers bounce back in a big way.

The one positive thing Braswell has done offensively in some recent games is turn in productive out with bunts or sac flys. If we can get to him with fewer than 2 outs and he can move runners, he can stay in this game. If he can’t, he will get pinched for Reeves again.

Jones can hit pop ups in the same position. Be productive. Move runners and score runs if you are getting put out He and Frey CANNOT strike out with RISP tonight.

Frey has been playing really well lately and was great Saturday, be he was just as bad as Jones down the stretch last night.

I see us winning tonight but sure wish CJJ would have coached to win last night. He saved pitchers rather than find the guy that’s on.

We need to score early and not let ourselves get pressured into late inning heroics

We scored early last night. Scoring early hasn’t been an issue all season. It’s been not going into a black hole after we score early.

Don’t give up a 2 run homer in the bottom of the 2nd inning to swing the momentum and we probably do just fine. Them returning fire early defined that game. They were loose and kept believing and we played tight from there on out, especially on the mound.

Momentum is everything for a team like LR that is riding on emotion and has nothing to lose. Except, now they DO have something to lose and some different expectations than just getting to a regional. If we can get a lead and keep the momentum away from them long enough, they will be the ones who start pressing. Getting an early lead and leaning on them is the key tonight.

UALR is exhausted. They have scrapped their way to this point. Their pitching tonight will reveal problems, as will LSU's. I expect many runs to be scored by both teams. But:
LSU 12
UALR 9

Jay Little Rock Johnson will wear this one forever. UALR stuns the world tonight.
