Penn State has played at Temple.
and Penn State lost to them for the first time in 74 years. They also played them at Lincoln Financial. It was not a true road game.

Oklahoma has played at Tulsa.
not often
"The Sooners played in Tulsa for the first time 100 years ago—Nov. 30, 1914, when they beat Tulsa 26-7. Since, the Sooners have played in Tulsa just eight more times."

Ohio State has played at Cincinnati.
they last played at Cincinnati in 2002 and 1900 before that, so not they haven;t any more recently than we've played Tulane in New Orleans
quote:
Michigan State has played at Central Michigan.
They've played there one time in the history of their series.
Tell me about all the times Alabama and Auburn have played at UAB. Tell me about Florida playing at UCF or USF. Tell me about Arkansas playing at Arkansas St. Tell me about Tennessee playing at MTSU. Or maybe we can stop pretending that it's common for big time P5 programs to play road games at G5 schools. That's what smaller P5 programs like Miss State and Ole Miss do so they don't have to pay people to play them.
When you're scheduling an OOC game against a G5 school, you're typically just scheduling a cakewalk game to fill up a schedule. Why on earth would you sacrifice home revenue to go on the road to play a shitty team when you have nothing to gain and everything to lose? There is just no incentive for it. If LSU wants to schedule a game for Tulane to come to Tiger Stadium, I'm all for it. I'd even be "ok" with playing a game in the Dome every 10-15 years against them. But starting back up a yearly thing with Tulane? No thanks
We're playing a different school from LA every year the next 4 years. I'm sure Tulane will eventually be on the schedule. Honestly, if we're trying to keep the money in Louisiana, I'd rather LSU throw a bone to the smaller struggling state schools before a prestigious private university in New Orleans that has plenty of money. The rivalry is dead and has been ever since Tulane stopped investing in football. That is not going to change regardless if we start playing them again or not. I'd rather us schedule a yearly weekend baseball series with them or play three midweek games with one home game for each team and a neutral site game

No. Because it is a huge money loser.
Tulane has their own chicken shite stadium which seats around 25,000 I think. Even the Superdome only seats around 75,000. Thet is a loss of 28,000 seats and tickets at best. The only way LSU should play Tulane is in Tiger Stadium.

Auburn just finalized a deal with UNC for a 2020 meeting in Atlanta...
Now if Auburn and bama are playing in Atlanta to get exposure, LSU certainly could use the same exposure in Nola.

Just tell everyone the fact that Tulane serves beer in their stadium. They’d 100% be on board with a home and Home then

Ok? Temple plays all it's home games at Lincoln Financial. Penn State has been there like three times over the last decade and that loss didn't prevent them from winning the Big Ten a year later.

Three times over the last 15 years.

So not that long ago, like I said.

In 2012. So not that long ago, like I said.
I'm not even sure what you're arguing since no one is saying it's common or that we have to play at Tulane regularly. Point is, other major programs do it. Oklahoma and Texas even do it when they have their neutral site game fixed into their schedules annually. It's not the end of the world.

Two is BR, one in NO dome. LSU is the home team or all games.

16 years ago isn't exactly recently. And like I said, we've played Tulane in New Orleans more recently than Ohio State has played at Cincinnati, so not sure what point you were trying to make listing them

actually, quite a few people ITT are saying exactly that

where did I say it was? This entire thread was asking why we don't do a H&H with Tulane. Some people just don't like hearing honest answers

Admittedly, I thought it was more recently, but not ancient history either. It's still an in-state road game they didn't have to play, but did it anyway, even though it was at Paul Brown Stadium.

I didn't. I saw one person say every 5 years. Another every 3 years. Neither of them even mentioned playing them on the road. That's quite a few?

I didn't bring up how often these games occur.

point is, rarely
Who cares?

None of the answers are particularly great ones though when other major programs somehow manage to schedule them occasionally.

LSU playing tulane stopped being a "tradition" 30 plus yrs ago. tulane is not a traditional" state school" in that 80% of its alums are not state residents; in fact 60% are from the north east areas of the country. It gives no money back to the state.Money-wise this thread is a joke. As is the comment that LSU needs to play in N.O. for "exposure".
