Unless you are 80 years old, what reason do you have to hate Tulane? They are irrelevant, and have been for a long arse time.

I’d love to see that. Iowa would be cool. They’re a decent program. They have a good home field advantage too. Wouldn’t exactly be an awesome road trip for fans but better than Syracuse was..

Oh I forgot we’re too good to play Tulane but we’re not too good to get spanked by Troy at home and we’re not too good to do a home and Home at NRG with Rice... gotcha.

Troy was a lot better team than Tulane.

Tulane can come to Baton Rouge whenever they want. LSU will cut them a nice check.

If LSU plays Tulane in the Superdome, the revenue split needs to be at least 75/25.

I’d love to see these 2 play regularly, but if Tulane wants to play the Tigers in NOLA, they need to pay up.

Troy is a sunbelt team from Alabama. Tulane is an AAC team in NOLA. You tell me which would be better to play? Not saying replace our P5 with Tulane. I’m saying why not play them instead of stupid arse Rice or Southeastern

Brother-in-Law is a Tulane booster and fan. Speaks with AD every so often and he has asked why LSU sand Tulane don’t meet on the football field.

The reason is LSU. Tulane has said that whenever we play (according to my bro-in-law) that LSU could keep 100% of the gate from the game and the game still wouldn’t happen.

My opinion is this. Why do we give money to South Alabama and Troy to come to Tiger Stadium? I’m all for Louisiana athletics. I want the teams/schools from The Boot to do well. As the flagship are we not obligated to help and boost the state?

Let’s give these Division I schools a thrill. Let’s build up a game in Yulman, pack the fricking stadium. Same thing for Cajun Field! Let’s give the little guys a thrill and have them be in the spotlight! It’s about the Boot. I want LSU ago succeed first-and-foremost, but I want the State of Louisiana to look good as well. Take the money we’d give to South Alabama and Troy and reinvest in the schools in our state so everyone is competitive at their own level and in their own conferences.

It seems like LSU is being greedy. Tulane is a bigger name and we have a history with them dating back. They are NOT ULL or ULM. Come on.. a road game in NOLA at their new stadium would be cool. Get off your high horse.

Absolutely not. Tulane relied on LSU to fund their program, ever since LSU stopped playing them they almost shut down their football program.

Clearly you are a troll.

Hell, Skip did a 2 (or 3) for 1 deal with Tulane where that 1 was played at the Dome and LSU got a good percentage of the tickets, but it was still poorly attended (note it was an 11am ESPN game).

No one cares to play Tulane in football in any way. They are about as relevant as Centenary.

Are you serious?

LSU would NEVER play a game in that crappy little high school stadium.

The Superdome would be the only possibility.

because the local economy benefits more from a game against a team that isn't an hour away.

I love your post and agree with most of it besides that part about Cajun field. LSU will never play at ULL. Playing at Tulane in New Orleans is WAY different than traveling to a sunbelt team. The AAC is a good league and is a notch below the Big12. The sunbelt is barely a notch above FCS. Their stadium at Tulane is very nice and would be a fun matchup. Lots of areas to tailgate and it would be a big weekend affair.

Have you ever even seen the new one?? It’s connents like that are why a lot of fans of smaller state schools hate us. They view a large portion of our fan base as arrogant, entitled and rude. The new Tulane is not as big as SEC stadiums but I bet it’s just as nice. It’s very clean.

Why do you think LSU can’t throw them a bone every now and then? Jesus, our HC preaches that it’s all about Louisiana and let’s keep it in house. It would be big for the state. I would be 100% with going to Tulane once every 3 years and going to Ruston once every 4 years

My father played for LSU 1959-62. He was part of the 62-0 butt-kicking. Said Paul Dietzel had offense play defense and defense play offense, for second half. Players wanted to put 100 points on the Greenie Weenies.

Need to play them at least twice for the 99 and 100 game of the series.
