Holding call on Marks long run.

Right before the half, im sure everyone seen it when Marks broke that last run, the miss st player had the most egregious hold i ever seen , two hands full of jersey and practically tackled the LSU player at the end, how was that not called holding?

SEC office wanted to keep the game close, so they let it go.

Yes….I was telling the ref through the TV the same thing. There was another play in the second half where you could also see the LSU jersey being pulled away just as much but no call. I’m not sure how you can miss that.

Ref probably did not have a good view of it. On those big plays they don't always have the best look at the play downfield. It was an obvious hold no doubt.

Who missed the tackle at line of scrimmage? Didn’t catch the jersey number

I saw that during the game! The only reason Miss St. had any points was the refs blown calls. They didn’t miss a single one for LSU either. They did not call several egregious holds that resulted in points for MSU

It's possible, but it was right near the ball carrier and the State player looked like he was trying to pull the LSU player's jersey off. It was well beyond the LOS so the play would have counted, but put hem closer to the LSU 40 from what I recall.

Zy Alexander missed the tackle, it was a tough tackle but he made a good tackle forcing a 4th down later in the game to make up for this missed tackle.

Yes, the hold really occurred at the 34/35 yd line so they go back to the 45 but I was more aggravated at the BS hold that Heard got called for rather then them not calling this hold.

When you know they see it, what else is there to think???? They decided they didn't want to call it. And why?

How do you know they saw it? It was 40 yards down the field and dude was moving. I just had the broadcast view like most of us, and I rewound it and didn’t see an official in the frame. It sucks, but shite happens.

May have even been a good thing in the long run to get our attention, cause we came out focused after halftime and dominated the entire 3rd quarter on both sides.

Is that why they kicked out a Mississippi State player on a controversial targeting call that they could have easily let slide?

You can’t reason with these people. There were yards on the Saints board who thought the actual Saints players and coaches let Carolina score at the end of the game, risking losing if they hadn’t recovered the onside kick, in some sort of weird service to “The NFL” and their rigging.

The call wasn't controversial. The rule, or its draconian punishment may well be controversial, but given the rule what the MSU player did was textbook targeting. He launched, leading with the crown of his helmet. It's the kind of hit that can cause devastating neck and spine injury. Again, maybe it's a bad rule, but it's on the books.

I'm not denying that it is technically a rule. But they could have not ejected that kid and no one would've have blinked an eye. They got more criticism for ejecting him than they would have if they didn't call it. My point is that if this was all some plot by the SEC to keep the game close, they wouldn't have ejected him. If you subscribe to the theory that the SEC was trying to rig the game because they missed a holding call, I think you are dumb.

So many fans are still hung up on the old targeting rules where you have to have helmet to helmet contact. That rule is no longer in effect.

Yep, the hold was on Sam #14. Referee was looking right at it with the perfect angle to make the call and didnt. Also near the line of scrimmage there was a block in the back by one of the O Lineman.
