Park by the UREC or Parker Coliseum if you can find a spot. Free 1st come 1st served parking. There will likely be a spot or two by the Coliseum but there will 100% be spots by the UREC. Long trek to the stadium but you can check out the tailgating along the way.
Also should be free spots available in the Hayfield lots on Gourrier. (By the baseball field).
Alternative would be just Ubering from your hotel. Then join the party at Walk-Ons after the game win or lose. Uber back to hotel/house once traffic clears some.
Don't park in one of the sketchy paid lots (guys with a cardboard sign collecting cash) north of campus on Nicholson or Highland.

If you get there early enough they have free lots. Although less and less each year. I would also take into consideration on where to park to get out after the game. Unless you want to hang out with some tailgate parties and kill some time. There will be plenty to hang out with after the game if you go that route.

Game is 6pm. I set up at 5am and family/friends show up around 9am. Later than 10, you’ll have a little work to do.

If you park a mile or so north of the stadium, that may be one of the last things you ever do...

What direction will you need to go when you get to the interstate? This is vitally important, because if you park in the wrong lot, contra-flow traffic will force you to go up to an hour in the wrong direction.

Park just north of campus off Highland or Nicholson. Thats the fastest route out to get back to I10. Going out south on Highland to I10 is slower. Like others have said, don't go too far north..but parking in some dude's yard for $20 or on the side streets is fine. Lots of people around. Some of these folks on here aren't used to daily interaction with the common hoodrat.

We had good luck parking at Walk On’s and eating an early lunch there and then leaving our car thru the game. Easy exit down Burbank headed south.
Additionally parking near the baseball stadium puts you close with reasonable exits.
Do NOT park north of the campus, especially on streets named after,Presidents.

This is a good point. Burbank moves pretty fast compared to Highland and Nicholson headed south

Don’t listen to the smartass responses and park near the baseball stadium - most of that is free and you’ll be safe.
That's the only place I ever used to park.
There's lots of space and it's a short walk to Tiger Stadium. (There's even space to park there during the big Alabama game every other year, which is the "Monster Crowd/Traffic" game)

All the gray shaded spots are "free parking."
LSU student parking takes up a good chunk of the ones on campus. If you are there early enough, you will be able to get a decent spot ON CAMPUS instead of having to drive all the way to Alex Box/Hayfield Lots to get a spot.
As the hours go by, spots will fill fast, particularly for bigger SEC games. Assume that if you aren't on campus by 2pm for a night game, you will likely not get a spot on campus unless you are very lucky.
Exciting campus is another battle. Hayfield/Alex Box lots are a little more organized to leave than the lots on campus. Both areas will bottleneck fast.

I would recommend parking in the Hayfield or Levee Lots. It may a bit of a walk but it is really to get out and hit River Road heading North or South. If you want something a little closer Lot 409 is a decent paid option, very rarely is full, but is a bit of a pain getting out of.
