I think if any LB took carries at RB it would be Queen. We can’t afford to lose White at LB as much as y’all want to see him carry the rock, it’s not going to happen. We will be fine at RB though. I liked what I saw from the group in the spring game

It'll take a lot to be better than Michael Brooks

Not really. Brooks was a late 3rd round pick that made 1 Pro Bowl. Hell, Deion Jones has already been picked higher and made a Pro Bowl and nobody is even thinking about calling him the greatest LB in LSU history. White should be a top 10 pick and has all the tools to be a perennial Pro Bowler.

So does he go to the Falcons, Panthers, or Bucs?

Apparently the Panthers since the Dirty Birds and Bucs already have 2 former Tiger LBs each.

THIS is the best linebacker in LSU history. His knee injury robbed him of his explosiveness, and he still went on to a nice NFL career.

I just saw the post above that panned Brooks because of his pro draft and performance. That poster does not realize the extent of Brooks’ injury. He was nearly a Lawrence Taylor level talent before the injury.

is there an opportunity to use White as the short yardage back this fall?

That’s like using Drew Brees as a deep snapper. Devin White would provide very little value as a running back over what we already have. As a linebacker he’s taking our defense to another level.

It sucks that such a great player and person will never even win a west division title at LSU

Miles played in two national championship games man. I wanted Miles out because he got stale but please don't ever put O in the same category as Miles as far as head coaching goes. O can't even be mentioned in the same breath as Miles yet.

For real though, watch he ends up going to the Panthers.

It's crazy how he can still become much better, specifically at his reads and tackling. He made a bunch of tackles last season but also missed quite a few.

Really high expectations for him this upcoming season.

If he is a better college LB than Michael Brooks, he will be the best ever at LSU and one of the best ever anywhere.

He hasn't taken a play off that I've seen yet.

He chases guys all over the field.

Even when he doesn't make the tackle, it's rare that he is not right there as the second or third defender to the ball - unless the play is well downfield.

Sometimes when the defense looks gassed, White appears to be the only thing holding it together late in close games.

LSU has had several good LB's over the years, but I can't remember anyone faster once they made up their mind where to go.

Certainly as a younger player, the last I recall as good as Devin White was Bradie James. And few juniors/senior linebackers over the past 15 years that I would suggest or concede are better - Kwon, Highsmith and Sheppard (and they were all pretty good younger players, too)- and even then, I'm not sure any of them are cut and dried better.

Well I had to throw the "yet" in there to be fair but I understand why that's comical.
