Jeez you forget how dominant his teams were. If he just hadn’t let 08 Lee spook him

Or better yet, if we could’ve kept Perrilloux…

So what does he do? Leaves Mitchell and Ragas on the sideline and tries to punt, which goes exactly how it went last time - safety, 3pt game.

He didn't try to punt, he had the QB run back into his own end zone for an intentional safety. That was the game in the rain where his long snapper kept sailing balls over the punter's head.

It was a crazy strategy and only worked because the App St kicker missed a short FG but I understand why he did it. If the long snapper had sent another one past the punter, App St could have recovered for a TD and taken the lead.

My bad; I knew the punting was a cluster and I looked up the play by play and it just said team safety.

Still though, wouldn’t you have rather just run on 3rd and 4th with Lewis/Mitchell/Ragas?

Yeah, of course. Throwing the ball there was dumb. It would have forced App St to burn their last time out too, so getting into FG position once they got the ball back would have been more difficult.

I like him a lot and he’s probably my first choice but… I keep going back to one of their games I watched last year where he must have been on shrooms:

ULL 24
App State 19
1:56 4Q

2nd and 9 - 7yd run
3rd and 2 - INCOMPLETE pass, stops clock

Now it’s 4th and 2 at your own 32. First down wins it. The conditions are awful and your punter hasn’t been able to get it off cleanly and the last attempt resulted in a safety.

EDIT: instead of even trying to pick it up or punt he takes an intentional safety.

They got lucky and Appy missed a 30 yarder at the buzzer.

Took the safety because deep snapper had three bad snaps in a row because it was 25 degrees in driving rain with winds at 30mph

Hand the ball off to Ragas on third down and the game is over.

I love the words "The sexy pick" duh, where the hell have you been. This is LSU...ya know. Archer,Curly, Dinardo, Les, Ed...

By the way if you think Scott Woodward is making the call on who is coach you don't know shite about college football. Now he may put 4 or 5 in front of them but the money folks and the board will decide the coach.

Now that I think of it Fickell gave away what would have been to that point the biggest win of his career.

Jeez just went back and looked, almost the same situation as Napier. Up 2 on UGA, incomplete pass on 3rd and 2 with 1:30 and GEORGIA OUT OF TIMEOUTS followed by a punt on 4th and 2.

Straight up threw the game

Before a practice recently, a staffer who spent time at Alabama was asked how Napier and Saban differ. He thought for a minute, then another, then shook his head in defeat.

"One guy coaches offense and the other coaches defense," he says. "That's it."
A young Nick Saban is out there, 50 miles away, that miraculously turned Chicken Shite USL into Texas Chicken Fried Steak (From Goodson's Cafe in Tomball, Texas) and all the Rantknocker Madden-Xbox pros don't want him. He aint experienced enough.

Young Nick Saban or football version of Will Wade.

Pair him with a great DC and he'd kill it here. (Would bring Rob Sale in to coach OL too)

Seems like there is a lot of potential with Napier. The question is whether SW would be bold enough to bring him in. The fear is he could turn out to be Hallman 2.0. I don’t think he would. I think Kiffin is too much of a loose cannon and there is no reason to expect he will stay here, regardless of whether he wins or loses. He can’t seem to stay still.

Why would we hire any one of these losers? None of them would even get a phone call

Stop riding Lane Kiffin's dick.

He WILL NOT be the next head coach at LSU.

I keep wondering why people say Aranda would need a really great OC, but never say that about Fickell. Isn’t it true of every defensive coach? Personally I think the two people Woody should bid for are Aranda and Napier. I would be happy with either.

Fickle
Aranda
Napier

Stay away from O’Brien and Kiffen. My 2 cents.

This, and I LOL at those who truly think Alleva hired Orgeron. Joe was TOLD to hire Orgeron. That hire was good ol' Louisiana politics at its finest.
