quote:

He came in with a plan. He was determined to beef up the Cajuns' support staff à la Alabama, and because they couldn't afford the same salaries as Saban, he relied on volunteers and young coaches eager to get their start.

quote:

His staff meetings even look like Alabama's, with Napier surrounded by some 40 people each morning as he outlines the day ahead. And that's not counting folks in the weight room and nutrition staff, which basically didn't exist before his arrival.

The best part.

quote:

Before a practice recently, a staffer who spent time at Alabama was asked how Napier and Saban differ. He thought for a minute, then another, then shook his head in defeat.

"One guy coaches offense and the other coaches defense," he says. "That's it."

He has his eyes on the flagship.

I’m sure he’ll see this and take heed considering you used an exclamation point.

I really don't see Scotty going after Napier, I'd much prefer Aranda or Kiffin over him.

Group of 5. I don’t want Tom Herman/Mike Norvell/Kevin Sumlin/Scott Frost.

He’s not going to be the guy, but Napier’s going to do really well somewhere.

Don’t think there’s many guys out there that could win double digit games consistently at ULL.

ETA: and 3.5 years in and not losing a single game in your division is pretty damn impressive.

I wouldn’t mind it all, but people would hate it so it’s not going to happen. Not sexy enough.

Aranda is not a bad choice but only idiots want Kiffin.

There is zero chance he is not in the top 3. Might be 3, but the dude is somewhere high on the list.

He is probably also pretty high on some lists @ other schools that aren’t an hour away.

I’m not saying Napier should definitely be the guy, but we have to at least look.

When I say we need to hire a coach not a name, it’s guys like Napier I’m talking about.

I’m not saying the hire needs to be sexy, but you know that’s what they’re going to go for.

If Les Miles and Ed Orgeron can win a championship here so can Napier.

He needs to prove himself at a big time school first.

If they want butts back in the seats ignore what people who don’t even watch football outside of LSU and the game on TV right before LSU think and hire someone who can build a program based on winning principals and practices regardless of what his name is or where he coaches right now.

This kind of mindset is what will set us back.

There is no fricking way he's in the top 3, why does he continually pass up on power 5 offers? He's also almost lost to Nicholls, Georgia Southern, and South Alabama, he is not Woodward's guy.

Well, believe it or not, when you’re coaching at a Sun Belt school, you do almost lose games to teams like this.
