At about the 22 minute mark she zeroed in on the media and gave her opinions on why their repeated questions on controversy is tiresome and why she feels what happens with her team stays inside of her locker room with her team. She didn’t really hold back. She asked Glen to finish one of her sentences and he actually replied “I wasn’t listening”. Mulkey said, “well why are you here if you aren’t going to listen to what I’m saying?”

She said it’s not right for media to personally attack her when she doesn’t give a response that they want to hear. She said her coaching moves in a game are open for criticism, but it doesn’t have to be personal.

Also said she should probably receive some residuals for their “click bait” articles.

Thanks for the link, I was looking for it. Gawd, that's our coach. She is a breath of fresh air. I have never really listened to WBB press conferences until Mulkey. She definitely grabs your attention. She is honest and to the point, not cutesy, doesn't sugar coat anything. She is far better at being a head coach than they are at click baiting. I am glad she is our coach.

For almost 30 years she’s been dealing with a media that doesn’t like her because she doesn’t parrot their favorite causes.

She didn’t run and hide from Covid and called out the stupid policies that were created at that time. She didn’t tweet “#freegriner” twice a day, every day as if that would change Putin’s mind.

All she has done is won high school titles, college titles, Olympic gold medals, and coached and won at a faster rate than anyone in women’s collegiate basketball history but instead of the media celebrating a true, heroic woman, they try to tear her down because she didn’t call an ESPN article racist for saying the refs made some poor calls in the national title game like celebrated hero Dawn Staley who found a way to make poor officiating about race.

So yeah, Kim really doesn’t try to make friends with the media. She is better at her job than they are at theirs and they can’t stand it.

She has this odd combination of qualities that make her spectacular. I’m glad that she is one of us.
