Kendall Beckwith. So glad he came along and saved us from having to watch DJ Welter, the worst linebacker in LSU

To this day i still think welter has the tape of les and chief in a compromising position

Even par Lazare is the reason we were able to stay in the game vs Duke during the 06 run. In the 1st half we had nothing going on offense and we had major foul trouble but when Lazare got in there he started giving us buckets. Without his 10 first half points in that game there is no final 4 run.

Way before a lot of people here’s time (1988) but NT Darrell Phillips out of Franklin, La. played like a madman in the middle...very physical for a smaller than normal NT..6’ 2” 245#s...

Greg Jackson. He had 7 picks his senior year then played in the nfl for 12 years.

Agreed! That’s a good one. He was a very steady presence in the secondary for LSU. He just wasn’t a freak like Reid, Delpit, Adams. I’ll stick with safety and pick a guy who currently is on the team....jacoby Stevens. He played better all year than a hurt Delpit who won the Thorpe award. I think Stevens will have a great season this year. Other guys who were great at LSU but didn’t get the recognition they deserved bc of either a short LSU career, not a skill position player, or a bad nfl career are that taints our memories are: T Bob Hebert- played all over the line and was a good team guy. Ron Brooks- he was a poor mans honey badger while at LSU. Kevin Minter- he was an excellent tackler who wasn’t necessarily a playmaker but he got the job done. Similar to Jacob Phillips who I think was under appreciated. Will easily and quickly name about ten more: Duke Riley, jermauria Rasco, James Stampley, Foster Moreau, Travis Duran, Lewis Neal and I’ll finish with Bennie Logan who I think was a much better playmaker in his time at LSU than his brother so far.

Corey Thompson.

Was at LSU for 6 years I think. Had multiple injuries, but was a solid special teams player.
Then he absolutely balled out his final year. Had an incredible performance against Bama.

Appreciate it ! You got some good names there also, however Bennie and Glen are not related. Bennie was from North LA , Glen is from Nola

I would also like to add Ron Brooks. Dude was clutch for us on many occasions. I specifically remember him batting down a pass against Auburn 2011 in the endzone. Was a great play and we proceeded to skull drag them

I'll throw Keiland Williams in the mix. Overshadowed by Charles Scott but a great back that had some big time plays. 1,699 yards on 299 carries and scored 17 rushing touchdowns for his career

I'll throw out a couple of transfers that I think get overshadowed in conversation.

Chase Pittman

Demetrius Byrd

If we are going to bring basketball into it look no further than Ricky Blanton and his run to final four

I don't think Jeremy Hill gets enough credit because he was followed up by Guice and Fournette. He was a bad MFer.
