Here’s a Thread for Under-Appreciated LSU Players

I’m gonna go with DJ Chark. He was great for us in 2017 and would have been a much more prolific player if he would have played with a better quarterback and a better offensive coaching staff.
Lester Earl once said that he would be a No. 3 or No. 4 wide receiver at most SEC schools. Now he’s the best receiver on the Jacksonville Jaguars and played in the Pro Bowl as a replacement for Tyreek Hill. He definitely proved the haters wrong.
What under-appreciated players would you guys like to mention and why?

Brandon Taylor was the glue for that 2011 defense and hardly gets mentioned

John Battle
Kristian Fulton- I always felt like he didn’t get enough credit since he was teamed with Stingley and Greedy.

First two names that came to mind were Stephen Peterman and Claude Wroten.
Don’t know why those two specifically came to mind though.

Rondell Mealey - overshadowed by Faulk and Cecil but a great RB.
Jordan Jefferson - gets way to much criticism. Competed like crazy, tough, ran the plays called. QB'd our last win in TS vs Bama.
Jarrett Lee - fans cheered when he got hurt vs OM. Had every reason to leave. Was clutch in '10 vs UTenn, UF, and Bama and in '11. TBH. it's not clear Les survived '10 without him.

Edwin Alexander. Dominant nose tackle who played with bad knees his entire career. Rarely ever got pushed back. When he was in the game the run defense was solid.

Jefferson and Lee fiasco was pretty unfortunate for both.
Lee got put into a bad situation early and Les’s lack of confidence in him did not allow him to ever get it out of his head.
JJ could have been better possibly in a different system. But he struggled in Les’s system big time.
It was a hard 4 years to watch.
