Dent does a lot well, great at getting to goal, can draw fouls, excellent assist guy, and in his two scrimmages he's really impressed on defense.
But all throughout his career the one thing he can't do is shoot.
And this team won't shoot the ball well outside of Bashir. Hopefully Clark gets eligible because he can put them down.

Quick search says UCF returned 3 starters for this season.

Just let Ruzic start throwing them up. He's a 36% 3pt shooter in his international career. I'm kidding a little bit, but when teams leave him completely unguarded at the top of the key, I wouldn't mind seeing him take the open shot.
Honestly, the only player that I want not taking 3's in almost any circumstance is Dioubate.

Tiger eye would look good as well
I think they need to leave that to be strictly associated with football.
The dunking tiger in the middle would be great. However, if LSU doesn't want to go that route, just put the Tiger Face at center court. It doesn't have to be the obnoxiously large logo that seems to be the trend in college basketball. Just something fairly clean and simple. See the LSU soccer field for example which, like basketball, has a circle at mid-field.

My uninformed opinion is that they are moderately better than McNeese, but likely a bottom 1/3rd Big 12 team.
This is true but the Big 12 has alot of good teams so it says alot that they made the tourney last year and return 3 of those starters.
