Just imagine if the situation was reversed, and we had lost to Bama 9-6 --- this board would be SCREAMING that we were the second best team and deserved to be in the playoff because it was an OT loss to the no. 1 team.

First, LSU won at Bama. If we lost, it would have been an away game
Second, our schedule was better than theirs.

It’s not the same at all. Regardless, college football wasn’t and still isn’t a meritocracy. It’s firstly a popularity contest, and Alabama benefited from it. If they were miss state, they wouldn’t have been in. If ok state was Texas they’d have been in.
It’s as simple as that.

Just look, if TCU loses this week or in the championship they’ll be out the playoffs. If they were Texas, no way.

Yes but didn’t something happen like a Ok St plane crash , and they lost to Iowa St in OT following that tragedy for their 1 loss. I vaguely remember some kind of something happening like that.

I though I heard it that Iowa St had a bad plane crash with some people close to the program and that it was motivation, to honor, etc that caused them to win that game essentially knocking Ok St out of NC. I think, could be wrong though

It was Okie State that had the plane crash. The team was told before kickoff that no individual player or staff is to ever ride in another single engine plane again, as that plane crash was the 2nd crash in less than a decade for OSU sports. Needless to say to players heads were not into some Thursday night bullshite game in Iowa State. But because Saban and the SEC Birmingham offices ran college football, Bama was able to turn a loss into a Bye and work on LSU while LSU still had the risk of injury and putting more game film on tape against UGA for Saban to exploit...which he did.

Ok thanks for clearing up. All these years in the back of my head had it mixed up. Why in the world would go into that much “emotional advice” before a game that could decide you in a NC?

Should’ve been Oklahoma State rather than Alabama. Already beat them at their home turf.

While I would have preferred that, I do believe that AL was a better team and they did get the best two teams in the championship game.

Yes but remember it’s not about the best TEAMS but the body of work, I.e. SEASON put together. Like the reason some say we shouldn’t have a seat at the table this year. They say our 2 losses should disqualify us as to why we should be out. So using that logic Oklahoma State would have DEFINITELY made the cut over Bama. Using that logic well you get the point. Seems the goalposts have been moved boyz!

You're forgetting one crucial thing. LSU is playing in the hardest conference's championship game against numero uno this year. Okie State played in its conference game in 2011. LSU played in its conference game in 2011. Meanwhile in 2011, Alabama came out smelling like the freshest rose because they received a winner's bracket bye and getting rewarded for losing...at home. So one of these is not like the other, and it never hurts when the conference headquarters is literally 45 mins from your campus either.

I believe Okie should’ve been playing LSU but can we stop pretending that a plane crash involving women’s basketball coaches contributed to Okie’s loss to Iowa St?

Guess what Einstein, this is the reason why Coach O chose NOT to tell LSU about Ensminger DIL's plane crash before the OU game. Go back and watch Burrow's reaction AFTER the game when the reporter assumed he knew. You have no frame of reference of things, do you? Even when a similar situation took place 3 yrs go with LSU.

My grudge didn't fully end until Bama got a taste of their own medicine last year by losing to Georgia in the NCG after beating them in the SECCG.
