Herbie loves the Honey Badger. HB7 doesn't give a shite, but he likes the treat.

I can't tell you how many times I heard him on the radio saying if LSU was as stock he'd sell it or that LSU was struggling and trending down.

he does not hate the honey badger nickname.
in interviews he smiles and says he understands why his teammate call him that.

I would love to see hb7 get a few offensive plays to help his heisman bid. A few jet sweeps from the redzone where he could score some offensive td's. If he were to score a td on both offense and defense in an sec game, it would be the story of the day on every college football show for a week. If he were go score two td's aginst bama, an offensive and either defensive or special teams score, he would be credited with damn near single handedly beating saban and bama. That would almost certinly lock him in for atleast an invite to NYC.

Would the fact that he is only a soph have any impact? Has a soph ever won before?
IDK, but would like to see it.

I would LOVE to see him play offense, but I certainly don't want to put TM7's heisman bid ahead of winning, especially in the bama game. Maybe he could, but I don't know what value he could bring over the current offensive playmakers.

I don't get the hate for Herbstreit. He pimps LSU often.
In his earlier year he would constantly pump up Ohio State and put everyone else (specially LSU and SEC) in the back burner.
He has become much more professional with experience. I actually enjoy him now, where I used to not be able to stand him.

Herbstreit used to be awful but the past few years has changed, become more objective.
Ever since the Tigers curb-stomped his Luckeyes.

for whatever reason, he has backed up.
from O ST and USC.. you can not continue to promote teams if they lose.

2. LSU vs OSU January 7, 2008
Eternally butthurt.

I've been waiting for his streak to end and it just won't. If this kid continues to play at the same level, all season, I don't know how he wouldn't win any award in football that he's eligible to win. RG3 and TM7 are the best players on their side of the ball, period. Personally, I don't like the HB tag but whatever, this kid is amazing to watch.

Why does everyone hate Herbstreit?
1. He really likes LSU, and talks very highly about them
2. He really knows his stuff, and is one of the best analysts in the game

BTW, I heard Mathieu hates that nickname
this may have been true in the past, but it has either grown on him or he has accepted it and moved on. I saw an interview with him on ESPN a couple of nights ago (sorry, can't remember which show) and he was asked where the name came from and how he felt about it. He said he wasn't sure where it came from but John Chavis came into a defensive meeting one day saying "He loved him some honey badger!" and the teammates picked up on it from there and it stuck. Then he said, yeah, he saw the video (and laughed) and said, "I take that as a compliment to me." He said he could see that he had "traits in common with the honey badger." The interviewer said something about TM being "fearless" or "the most fearless player in college football today" or something and it went on from there.

He's not going to win the Heisman. ANDREW LUCK is.
But this chatter will help put him ahead of the other defenders, like the Okie LB who is the main other defense player being touted as defensive player of the year.
Andrew Luck is presently the #1 rated football player of all time, according to the ESPN NFL 'scouts'. If LUCK takes Stanford to the Pac 10 championship, LUCK will be the Heisman winner.
A lot of good players left Stanford for the NFL. They were supposedly having a down year. If LUCK carries Stanford to the PAC 10 championship, LUCK will win the Heisman.
Luck touches the ball every snap. TM7 makes a few plays a game. Its not even going to be close. Focus on the two big defense awards TM7 could win. This Heisman talk is hopeless.

You can't be serious. Herbie has dogged LSU for years and that hasn't really changed too much.
