Going to an 8 team format will not solve anything. You will still have the discussion of teams feeling ripped off not making it into that number 8 spot.
Yes, for the 3 at large. But at least all P5 conferences are represented, which is fair.

I said the same thing just minutes before he did. Notre Dame hasn't played anybody. Let them Play Bama. Clemson may or may not beat GA. You want the best? Yes. OU got beat by Texas once and wasn't impressive today either ( unless Texas is that good).

OU beat everyone on their schedule technically.

I’m starting to think they get in honestly.

No chance. They will finish 6th behind Oklahoma and Ohio State.

The only thing I can think of is with Notre Dame not playing in a conference championship, while the other top 3 teams did, that could hurt them.
Strange that a team (Georgia) would move up after a loss but after thinking about it, I guess it's a possibility. Not sure how likely it is but I guess it's possible.
Don't get me wrong. I would love to see them stay in the top 4 because it would drive Saban nuts.

Well I think Georgia beats Oklahoma on a neutral field so I'd agree with top 4

Herbie is half right. Georgia WAS a top four team, but they lost in what should be considered the quarterfinal round of the playoffs. They may still be better than 2 or 3 of the teams who get the invitation on Sunday, but games matter.

Yes and no. Georgia outplayed Bama the entire game until a minute and some change left in the game when Hurts ran in the to go ahead TD. I realize they lost the game but if we're talking the top 4 teams, Georgia has to be included in that.
It would be awesome to see Bama have to play Georgia again.
This is why we have a committee of people instead of computers deciding who's in.
Again, not saying it's likely but it has to be a possibility.

Herbie is financially set and indifferent to ESPN's needs. He just sees the top of the SEC for what it is.

You can't keep OU out IMO.
That would be crazy

The narrative for Georgia is really being pushed by ESPN. Tebow and Spears were pushing it hard also.

Herbie has said tons of dumb things over the years.

He's trying to blackmail OSU.
Posted on 12/2/18 at 6:23 am to 1723lale
He should move Bama down for almost losing to UGA.

SEC Network + ESPN = $3 billion contract. Herbie is following orders and pushing the SEC.

which is far and away the most logical format...
You have just put your finger on why this is going to be such an uphill battle with the NCAA.

A few years ago there was absolutely no one outside the state of Ohio who were giving the Buckeyes any chance of wiping the field with Alabama at a neutral sight either.
