Beth is what she is…A good mid major coach who if she does anything mediocre at an SEC school should finish mid pack SEC which gives you cred to host a regional. Win your regional most of the time, then lose in supers most of the time.

thats pretty easy in theory but obviously much harder to actually do. florida state lost a 3 year starter who was a finalist for player of the year. she committed to texas yesterday. i dont know anything about florida state's nil situation but they have a better than average softball program so i would assume they take it pretty seriously. my guess is texas threw a ridiculous amount of money to her that was too hard to pass up, so she took the money. which leads me to believe that whoever else was recruiting her lost out on a shortstop creating a market for edwards. she was probably offered money that she couldnt pass up by schools that are throwing much more money around that schools like florida state and lsu cant compete with. how do you defense against that? you cant. certain schools have taken the approach in softball that no amount is too much and they play by different rules than the rest of the country. you can promote your program all you want but money is the only thing that talks anymore. until there is some sort of salary cap or limits on what schools can give out then this will happen year after year.

1- you are probably completely full of shite
2- that isn't even in the same universe as what TT and Texas are spending on softball.

How can you blame a kid for taking that kind of money? Especially in softball, where their best opportunity to make money would be in college. I don't fault any player for taking a big stack of cash. I also don't fault LSU for not spending it.

I understand that you have to bitch and moan about anything you can on here. It is just what you do. But you have to at least be able to see this situation for what it is.

If you want to be able to make these complaints then turn your $500 donations into 500k.

TT has come outta nowhere and are ruthless. But that is how you win.

went and got coach gerry from UL(where he was highly successful) and canady. now they have played for 2 straight national titles. lost em both to the shorthorns. they are not giving up. being that close 2 straight years they will continue to press.

meanwhile beth has not even made it to the WCWS in ages much less ever played for a natty.

If donating 250 is bragging, wow. I just send to NIL instead of getting Season Tickets. It actually comes out pretty even. I also give to Football, Basketball, gymnastics. Oh wait, that is "bragging".

Because she lied about coming back next year and that she was the "happiest she has ever been". Then, someone throws a little money around and all of a sudden she packs up.

If I had that kind of money, I wouldn't be making my complaints on a message board. It would be face to face. Also, that would be bragging.

Hey rich man!! What are you giving? 99% of the donors to LSU softball are small donors like us. So ripping us for our $100-1000 donations is a crock of crap. You start losing the base like us and it gets harder to keep up.

I used to give enough to be a Home Run donor for the Diamond Backers (since Yvette was coaching) for several years and threw out the first pitch several times. I quit because LSU wouldn't do anything with DeAngelo. Im finally going to say this... anytime the operations person needed me to do something for them, I always did what I could. When I left a message asking what could be done about him, I still havent had a return call or text back.

I still support the program, but from a distance. In my opinion, we really don't have a large number of boosters with deep pockets willing to support anything other than football, baseball, and mens/women's basketball.

Most are like us... small donors, but that does add up some. Don't tell me that Tortilla Tech has hundreds of donors for softball --- they have ONE and he's swinging a big stick right now. But we shall see how long that lasts for the Sand Aggies after the Sorsby debacle.
