I think he is the luckiest coach in cfb history. He was mediocre at best prior to LSU and completely lucked out getting the job. Saban had established the building blocks for a powerhouse. He upgraded our facilities and showed future recruits they can win a title at LSU. I believe plenty of coaches could have come here and had the same success if not more. It can't be proven but I do know Gundy took Ok. State to a level higher than CLM did.

Of course I agree. He's been riding, for years, the single national championship that he shouldn't have even been playing in.

I probably agree with this as well

but does that diminish what Miles accomplished?

there are a lot more coaches that could have come here and flopped

this is false

that championship gave him 08 and 09, but he wasn't going to survive 2010 unless he won more and he did

then 2011 bought him a few more years

last year probably should have been the end, and this year will probably be the end if he doesn't win big

Really? Who else should have played? Another two loss team?

Do you think Bama deserved to be in the title game in 11? If so, why?

Are you really quoting USA today?? You're a joke for that. The Big 12 was obviously horrible in 2002 when you can go 8-5 and be coach of the year. Horrible point to be made there. How can they say they were the only school in the nation to beat Oklahoma twice in 4 years when nobody played them every year but teams in the Big 12 lol. fricking USA today is a joke. Ask Okie St fans who turned that program around and nobody would say Miles

Number 31, if you cant see that Harbaugh is 10 times the coach of Miles, then my God, you are clueless.

"Luckiest coach in cfb history"? He's won the most games in LSU's history in the toughest league in the country. That does not happen by luck. For every lucky play that may have won a game, I can name you 5-6-7-8 plays that were pure bad luck & played a major role in losing a game.

Oh you can turnaround a program in one year but you can't put a program on a downward spiral in one year is that right??? You Miles cum guzzlers are ridiculous!

undefeated in regulation

All I know is when Charles Scott only got one (maybe 2) carries in the 2nd half against Kentucky I was blown away. Scott was running all over them in the first half. And that performance against Arkansas was disgusting

Patrick gave credit to Saban and Harbaugh for having the ability to both recruit and win

I-A Wins 2005-2015 (11 years)

Rank Team name Winning Percentage Games Won

1 Boise State 0.84 122 23 0 145
2 Oregon 0.79 115 30 0 145
3 Louisiana State 0.78 112 32 0 144

If that's not winning, I don't know what is. Seems Dan had a brain fart.

Someone remind of the super bowls and college NCGs Jim has lead teams to???

Miles must have banged someone Dan liked at one time...if he really said that.

Never...and neither would any of the ones talking up Miles' record versus Harbaugh.

I am not saying Harbaugh or Saban is below Miles. I am saying this:

It is not coaching that has been Miles problem which is saved by recruiting.

Yes Miles can recruit. But until lately the 2016 and 2017 classes he has not recruited a football team. To many holes for our classes to be better than some of the less highly rated classes.

To few lineman on both sides of the ball and piss poor QB recruiting.

As to his coaching ability it is fine IF he would leave the OC alone. Which thank God he has finally done.

Miles is NOT an offensive coordinator and THAT has been his problem ever since before Mettenburger.

For getting hired by LSU not lucky wins. LSU made CLM not the other way around.
