Requests that the Southeastern Conference schedule LSU football games after 6:00 p.m. in September for health and safety reasons related to the heat during day games
1 A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
2 To urge and request the Southeastern Conference to schedule football games at Louisiana
3 State University after six o'clock in the evening during the month of September for
4 health and safety reasons related to the heat during day games.
5 WHEREAS, in Louisiana, the heat index is often above one hundred degrees in the
6 month of September; and
7 WHEREAS, local news outlets reported that there were dozens of heat-related
8 medical incidents in and around Tiger Stadium at a day game in September of 2024; and
9 WHEREAS, due to the often extreme heat of September in this state and in the
10 interest of protecting the health and safety of players, coaches, staff, and fans, it is
11 appropriate that the Southeastern Conference take measures necessary to schedule
12 September football games in the evening.
13 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby
14 urge and request the Southeastern Conference to schedule football games at Louisiana State
15 University after six o'clock in the evening during the month of September.
16 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to the
17 commissioner of the Southeastern Conference.

That's not going to do anything at all. It's only a request

Thanks government. This is really what I'm needing from you.

Jesus fricking christ.

I don't ever want day games in Tiger Stadium, but I hope the SEC and the tv people put every single September game during the day just to tell the LA legislature frick off.

While this doesn't too thr list of what I believe to be important I dont disagree with it based off the heat. That being said, every body is outside drinking all day in that heat

I’d prefer they fix skyrocketing home and auto insurance prices and roads.

The government (Teddy Roosevelt) is the reason college football didn't get banned and still exists today.

I agree with this being passed, but why can’t they ever pass important things this fast? You know like insurance, infrastructure, taxes, etc.

Hundreds of bills and resolutions make their way through every legislative session. This doesn't mean that a relatively unimportant topic is getting an inordinate amount of attention.

This is just a request. It is not a law. It is just for show.

I don’t like day games in September or in any other month but I don’t want the legislature to be making decisions about LSU football.

Misses the mark if it's not a concern for other colleges and high schools in the state as well.

Complete opposite. State government does absolutely nothing to improve my life. At least this would help me out.
